There is a kind of hope that doesn’t feel hopeful at all. It shows up when the song in your soul has lost its melody. When you’re not inspired, not reassured, and deeply uncertain.

Optimism does not live here.
This isn’t positivity or silver linings.
It’s survival.
A quiet, unshakeable knowing that this is not how your story ends.

“Sing anyway” isn’t an instruction to feel joy. It’s what’s left when the words run out. A prayer offered after language fails,
a reaching toward the divine with empty hands.

That kind of hope is audacious.
And if it’s the only kind you have today,
it is enough.

Some nights are not about answers.
They’re about refusing to abandon yourself in the dark.

Even when the path isn’t clear.
Even when the light feels far away.

Keep searching.
Not frantically. Not desperately.
Just faithfully.

The light has a way of meeting those who stay.

Lost in the Background Poetry, Prose, & Blog

Good morning, loves,
I found this poem written by Karen Salmansohn last night and had to share it with you.

It becomes so easy to focus on everything burning in the world when it's being fed to us twenty-four-seven. I feel as though many of us have had to take a step back more often these days.

I read this tight before heading to bed last night, and you know what? I slept like a baby. I haven't been able to sleep very well these past few weeks with what's been going on. Every day has felt like another s**t show. We wake up wondering, "What's next?"

I can't begin to tell you how reading this gave me a sense of unburdening. When we deny ourselves permission to feel all that we're feeling we're filling our internal bottles with one thing or the other. The fact is that's just not healthy.

I'm hoping her words find you today. This is another gem I might print out and hang in my library. Remembering the duality that exists within this life gives us a better understanding of it. There's a peace that lies in between everything. There's a peace in knowing that just as everything burns, there's a blooming that follows in its wake.

Happy Friday, my friends.
All my love,
Anna

If you want to awaken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself.

If you want to eliminate the suffering in the world, then eliminate all that is negative in yourself.

Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation. ❤

In ordinary circumstances, our experience is shaped more by our perspective than by any situation itself.

I have lived the exact same situation and experienced it completely differently depending on perspective.

I have experienced suffering when I met the experience with judgement, and have moved through it with far more ease when I met it with gratitude.

Even in harder moments, power is found in how we view what’s happening.

When I release outcome and shift into gratitude - the circumstance I am presented may remain the same, but my experience of it changes.

If you feel yourself caught in judgement and want to shift perspective,
return to this simple practice:

“The way to move out of judgement is to move into gratitude.”

— Neale Donald Walsch

🌊 Moving into Gratitude 🌊

Pause.
Soften your shoulders.
Take a slow inhale
and an even longer exhale.

Notice any judgement without trying to change it. Just observe it in an unbiased way. 🤗

Stay here as long as you need.

Then gently ask:
What is one thing I can be grateful for right now?

Rest there for a few breaths. Feel your breath move through you, cradling your body in safety and gratitude.

Let gratitude create space,
and return to your eternal self,
remembering you are not confined by this or any circumstance. ❤️

May peace and gratitude walk beside us always.

Love, Holly ❤️
