🍃Olive leaves are like a tiny natural pharmacy if you really think about it 🍃

-scientists have identified hundreds of bioactive compounds inside them.

Here’s the breakdown:
   •   Polyphenols & flavonoids → The stars of the show. The best-known is oleuropein (the one OLIA promotes in a high percentage 16%), plus hydroxytyrosol, tyrosol, verbascoside, luteolin, apigenin, rutin, and more.
   •   Secoiridoids → A unique group mostly found in olives, including oleuropein and ligstroside derivatives.
   •   Triterpenes → Like oleanolic acid, maslinic acid, and ursolic acid.
   •   Phenolic acids → Caffeic acid, vanillic acid, ferulic acid.
   •   Essential oils → Around 30+ different volatile compounds have been found, though in smaller amounts compared to the polyphenols.
   •   Other compounds → Sugars, proteins, tannins, and minerals.

🍃In total, depending on how you count, over 200 distinct compounds have been identified in olive leaves.
What’s fascinating is that their composition changes with the season, the age of the leaf, and how they’re processed (fresh vs dried vs extracted).🍃❤️

I didn’t launch Special Leaf just to sell Tea. I launched it to solve a problem most people don’t even know they have.

Most functional beverages talk about energy, focus, or gut health—but very few talk about oxidative stress. That’s what led me to olive leaf extract—an ancient ingredient with 2x the antioxidants of green tea, 400% more vitamin C than oranges, immune system support, and natural energy without caffeine.

We built Special Leaf to be delicious, functional, and simple:
A clean-label sparkling Olive Leaf Tea with real fruit juice, minimal added sugar, and serious wellness benefits.

If you’re a buyer, investor, wellness lover, or just curious about where functional beverages are headed, I’d love to connect.

🍃❤️Let’s talk about quality of life and how olive leaf extract can help.

Postmenopausal symptoms

A study published in Nutrients in November 2024 found that olive leaf extract can help with postmenopausal symptoms. The study involved 60 postmenopausal women who took either a placebo or 250 mg of olive leaf extract daily for 12 weeks. The results showed that the olive leaf extract improved the women’s overall quality of life, lowered triglycerides, and increased bone mineral density.

Special Leaf Teas: Coming to Fruition

Special Leaf creator and seasoned chef Chris Cook brings a unique and delicious new beverage option to those who are healthfully minded. Olive leaves, and its extract, have long been used in traditional medicine, as far back as Ancient Egypt, where it was considered a symbol of heavenly power. It contains various compounds, such as oleuropein, which are thought to positively influence health. Scientific studies have indicated it not only possesses antioxidant properties, but anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and immune-stimulating ones as well.

Special Leaf teas contain 200% more antioxidants than green tea and four times the Vitamin C of any other source. Special Leaf teas, which are meant to be enjoyed cold, come in three flavors: Original, Sweet, and Lemon Verbena. The ingredients are high-quality, all-natural, minimal and comparable in flavor to other popular iced teas, although just a little bit different. Chef Cook was inspired to create Special Leaf teas after working for a Texas olive orchard several years ago. "I've been a chef for 22 years, and have been wanting to work on this concept for about 6 years now. I'm happy to be able to finally bring it to fruition," added Chef Cook.

Keep an eye out for Special Leaf teas at an event near you!
