Special Leaf Teas: Coming to Fruition
Special Leaf creator and seasoned chef Chris Cook brings a unique and delicious new beverage option to those who are healthfully minded. Olive leaves, and its extract, have long been used in traditional medicine, as far back as Ancient Egypt, where it was considered a symbol of heavenly power. It contains various compounds, such as oleuropein, which are thought to positively influence health. Scientific studies have indicated it not only possesses antioxidant properties, but anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and immune-stimulating ones as well.
Special Leaf teas contain 200% more antioxidants than green tea and four times the Vitamin C of any other source.
Special Leaf teas, which are meant to be enjoyed cold, come in three flavors: Original, Sweet, and Lemon Verbena. The ingredients are high-quality, all-natural, minimal and comparable in flavor to other popular iced teas, although just a little bit different.
Chef Cook was inspired to create Special Leaf teas after working for a Texas olive orchard several years ago.
"I've been a chef for 22 years, and have been wanting to work on this concept for about 6 years now. I'm happy to be able to finally bring it to fruition," added Chef Cook.
