Jackson's Journey Jackson Jude Redding Smith was born on April 5, 2014, weighing in at 6 lbs 4 oz. On July 4, 2014, his parents world changed forever.

This page was created to share love, hope and support for the parents of Jackson Smith who is battling Nephroblastoma (Wilm's Tumor) a rare form of kidney cancer. After about a week of being in hospital, they were given news that parents fear most. Jack has Nephroblastomatosis, a rare form of kidney cancer on both of his kidneys. He will be starting chemotherapy and they will treat this as aggressively as they possibly can for as long as necessary to keep their son alive, even if it means transferring to a better equipped hospital across the country. To quote his parents, "We are so grateful for the overwhelming support that we have received from friends and family thus far." This page is a way to try and update every day about his progress and for friends and family. Your thoughts and kind words are so appreciated in this terrifying time. We surrounded you with love. We hugged you and kissed you. We talked to you and told you things would never be the same without you here. Your sisters stood by their little brother. Their father & your grandmother were there and while your mama hugged you and sang you the sweetest lullaby, your dad held your hand and whispered in your ear all the things you needed to know. I snuggled and kissed your perfect little head, I talked to you and told you how beautiful everything will be and how there were people already there that loved you and would welcome you when you arrived. Somehow that day we all made it out of those doors without you. But Jacky, everyday since, you have helped us realize that not only were you the amazing, little person we knew, but that you already vibrated on such a higher frequency than any of us were capable. You showed me you were bigger than any fears of the light because you ARE light. You are love. You are energy. You are superpowers. You are happiness. You are all of the superheroes and all of the butterflies. You are every perfect breeze and you are every beautiful morning. You are everything that is good and we were the lucky ones. You have helped me to see that this entire time it wasn't actually us surrounding you. It's been you surrounding us. We love you and miss you all the time Jacky.
