Kinship-Seneca A FUNDRAISEING GROUP TO HELP SUPPORT FOSTER, ADOPTION & MENTAL HEALTH FOR THE YOUTH OF SAN BENITO COUNTY

Gabilan Chapter is a volunteer auxiliary group based in San Benito County on California’s Central Coast. The chapter provides local support for Seneca’s adoption, foster care and mental health services in Monterey and San Benito Counties. Some Gabilan members have dedicated their time since the chapter’s beginnings in 1956. Through the years, the chapter has raised significant amounts of money by hosting luncheons, fashion shows and house tours; its signature fundraiser is the annual wine tasting, first held in 1957 to showcase local wineries and restaurants. The sellout event, the oldest of its kind on the Central Coast, has grown to include participation by large numbers of wineries and restaurants and guest attendance of up to 1200. Seneca Family of Agencies believes that every child deserves a family, and is dedicated to finding permanent homes for abused, neglected or abandoned children. This cannot be done without the help of a caring community. Each year, funds raised by the Gabilan Chapter support vital services to children in transition and new families struggling to meet the needs of children in their care.

The 70th Annual Kinship Seneca Wine & Food Tasting is coming in hot—and we’re inviting local businesses and community champions to raise a glass with us as sponsors.

Sponsorship isn’t just a logo on a program (though yes, you get that 😉). It’s real impact: supporting foster, adoptive, and kinship families right here in our community—plus perks like tickets, recognition, and major feel-good energy.

From Advocate to Legacy Sponsor, there’s a level for every heart (and budget).

📅 Saturday, August 29 | 4–7 PM
🍇 Wine. Food. Community. Purpose.

✨ Tag a business that should be here.
✨ DM us to sponsor.
✨ Let’s turn generosity into a great pour.

________________

In 1977, William and his wife Nancy adopted their son, Matt—through Children’s Home Society. That experience stayed close to Medeiros family’s heart. When Randy and Rebecca were married in 1996, they chose to honor her brother Billy’s memory by asking their guests, in lieu of gifts, to make a memorial donation. The Wolf’s selected Kinship Center, which grew out of Children’s Home Society—and it’s a cause Rebecca proudly continued to support ever since.

Today, that legacy continues through our scholarship, created to support and uplift youth connected to foster care and adoption.
