What are you doing this weekend to decompress?

It seems like since this quarantine, people are working harder than ever.

They are not clocking in, taking an hour lunch break, and clocking out. Rather, they are basically working from the time they open their eyes till the time they shut their eyes.

Schedule something for yourself this weekend!

✨ Take a hike.
✨ Take an Epsom salt bath.
✨ Build a sandcastle or a snowman.
✨ Bake some brownies.
✨ Put together a puzzle with your family.

is what I’m wearing here and their line is on sale now.

their stuff is pricey but my favorite high waist moto leggings are on sale.

You don’t wanna wear these to the gym as they are practically see-through but perfect for stretching/lounging around the house. The most breathable, soft and comfortable material. Their entire line is antibacterial, anti-microbial.

Are you carrying extra water weight?

It’s a real thing! Do you have puffy eyes, puffy ankles, just a puffy body overall?

💦 When water builds up in the body, it can cause stress on the kidneys, bloating and puffiness, especially in the belly, legs and arms.

How can we release this extra water bloat?

💧 Drink more water. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but when you’re getting enough hydration, your body will let go of the stagnant, dirty, j***y water it’s been hanging onto.

💧 Add lemon, lime, grapefruit or any citrus fruits as this can be a natural detergent for your insides.

💧 Skip the white, bleached, table salt and processed foods.That’s an obvious one.

💧Move! Walk, jump, run, move that body and stretch every morning.

NO

🍌 Are there fruits I should avoid?

Banana’s and avocado’s are considered “builders” so if you’re really focused on weightloss then don’t go heavy on those.

🍓What about berries and melons?

Load up baby! All melons are fabulous for freeing up stagnant lymph and decreasing inflammation.

🥝 Isn’t fruit high in those dreaded carbs?

Carbs from bread and pasta is what you want to avoid. Carbs from fruit is straight up ENERGY.

🍉 Isn’t fruit high in sugar?

It’s not processed sugar. It’s the kind that your body recognizes as fuel.

For the new kids on the block✨

Welcome newbies, my name is Melissa.

✨ My goal here is to share simple health tips.

✨ I will never push or bully you but rather lead by example.

✨ I am 41 years young and feel better than I did in all of my 20s.

✨ I did massage therapy for 20 years along with cooking classes, health retreats, meal plans, kitchen clean outs and a full-time volunteer work.

✨ 2 years ago I streamlined my business so I didn’t have so many irons in the fire.

✨ Now I focus on mentoring a beautiful team of health coaches.

✨ Most of those who reach out to me are looking for weight loss, hormone balance and gut support.

✨ I absolutely love what I do and I don’t take one day of it for granted.

There is truly more happiness in giving then receiving. It fills my cup. Thanks for following along 💋

What’s your tip on taking a great photo?

Many are taking family photos this time of year. They have time off from work, they are seeing loved ones they haven’t seen in a while, and they want to capture the moment.

The problem is, at least one person will have their eyes shut or be looking in the wrong direction or not happy with how the group shot came out.

Here’s a pro tip that and I used last weekend.

- Set up phone tripod (get one on Amazon for $30 or less). Insert phone with the screen facing you so you can see yourselves in the photo.
- Put on a filter if you’d like for it to look airbrushed.
- Set the camera on video mode so that you can see how you look in the photo, you can change your positioning, pull in your tummy, put your shoulders back, make sure everything in the background looks clean.
- Save that video and then scroll through it until you like what you see and screenshot it.
- This gives you such an advantage to capture the perfect shot. Try it!

Spending time in Florida has been so relaxing and decompressing. We made these plant burgers today and they were nothing short of delightful.

Veggie burger
- 1 onion
- 3 tbs Marina
- 1 sweet potato
- 17 oz cooked lentils
- 1/2 c shredded mozzarella
- oregano/salt/pepper/nutritional yeast

How:
- Shred a raw potato (I used a sweet potato and it happened to be purple. First time seeing that)
- Finely chop one onion.
- The lentils we got pre-cooked from Trader Joe’s by the vegetables on the perimeter of the grocery store.
- We used organic tomato basil marinara from Trader Joe’s.
- The seasoning, we just sprinkled a little bit of those listed.
- Smashed these together, formed patties and cooked them in the air fryer on 400° for 15 minutes!

They were so quick and easy. Honestly the fastest burgers we ever made. What prevents me from making homemade burgers is how time-consuming they are. These are a new staple for us.

🍃 Why? Because we are being programmed 24/7 by instagram, television, facebook, commercials, our phone, emails, twitter, our computers, and our communities.

🍃 If we don’t have a program for our mind, then our mind is being programmed for us by marketing techniques and strategies.

🍃 What can we do?
- Practice self-care rituals
- Read books that inspire us
- Prioritize our spiritual routine

- We are the director, we are the writer and we are the star of our own production.

- We write the script. Let’s make it a good one🍃💫
