🚨IT’S WINSDAY🚨
There is beauty all around us…if only we take time to appreciate it.
In the busyness of life it can be difficult to slow down, as we often are moving from task to task or meeting to meeting.
I find it incredibly important to find time
DAILY to slow down, take a deep breath and pour into me.
I do this in countless ways but one activity I enjoy to do is take walks.
This allows a change of scenery, fresh air, sunshine and to get my body moving.
On a walk recently, I was able to spot this beauty and it dropped me my tracks. It was so beautiful and graceful.
It reminded me of the beauty that is all around us…if only we make time to slow down and appreciate it.
🏆 My wins for the week 🏆
Being enveloped in love, support and encouragement of those around me. Working in healthcare is no easy task right now. I am grateful to work with an incredible team who always finds ways to support me and remind me of how important I am to the team. What a blessing!
Surprising my husband with tickets to see one of his favorite R&B singers, Miguel, in concert. My husband’s birthday is next week and I decided to start the celebrations early. We had a great time!
What wins are you celebrating this week?
Have you ever surprised someone with tickets to a concert, event or something else?

What is Multiple Sclerosis?
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune condition that affects the brain and spinal cord.
This condition is when the immune system attacks cells within the protective sheath that surrounds the brain and spinal cord.
This can cause damage to the sheaths and results in impairment in nerve conduction.
There are different types of MS and nearly 1 million people in the United States are living with MS.
Symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis may include:
🔸 changes to vision
🔸 muscle weakness, stiffness and spasms
🔸 numbness or pain
🔸 loss of balance and falls
🔸 difficulty with cognitive function
🔸 mood changes
🔸 and more!
The exact cause of MS is not clear but some factors may include:
🔸 exposure to a virus
🔸 family history
🔸 and more!
Multiple Sclerosis is typically diagnosed by:
🔸 blood tests
🔸 MRI
🔸 lumbar puncture
🔸 and more!
Treatment for Multiple Sclerosis often includes
🔸 physical therapy
🔸 certain medications (such as steroids like Solumedrol, monoclonal antibodies like Rituxan, cladribine etc.)
There is currently no cure for Multiple Sclerosis. Treatments available can be effective in helping manage symptoms and minimizing number of flare-ups.
March is Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month and efforts are aimed at increasing awareness and research for this condition that impacts so many.

🚨IT’S WINSDAY🚨
Life is full of important choices..🙃
Although this is a catchy and funny phrase I had put on a souvenir goodie bag for my husband’s annual golf trip, this phrase rings true.
Life truly is full of important choices which can have lasting impacts.
The beauty of life is that you are the designer and architect of your own life.
Reflecting and making choices that are what YOU want is key. Life is short and fleeting, so it is important to take every opportunity possible to be kind, to learn and to chase the dreams within your heart.
Remember to stay true to you.

Talking to Anicisha, a nurse exploring the legal nurse consulting specialty, on Zoom. I love to do meet and greets with people from time to time and answer questions and also learn from one another. If you are a legal nurse consultant or attorney interested in a brief coffee and chat, message me and let’s connect!
Getting a massage for the first time in a couple of months. Due to the busyness of life, I was not able to get a massage over the last few months. It was wonderful to get back into one of my monthly treasured self-care activities. I currently get 90 minute massages and have been toying with the idea of going to 2hrs. Anyone out there do 2hr massages?
What wins are you celebrating this week?

🚨IT’S WINSDAY🚨
Never forget where you come from…
Recently on an impromptu day date adventure, my husband and I went on a walk at my undergraduate college campus, San Diego State University.
Walking around the campus, I reminisced on my college years and all I saw and experienced.
While pursuing my nursing studies, I was grateful to become involved in many organizations and to make lifelong friendships and connections.
Being an Aztec has shaped the woman I am, both professionally and personally. The 18 year old Keisha would be so proud of the woman I am today and all I have accomplished despite the challenges I have faced.
🏆 My wins for the week 🏆
Keeping up with acupuncture appointments regularly. Acupuncture has become a part of my self-care routine which I love and look forward to!
A stretch of FIVE DAYS off! It has been wonderful to not have work and to be able to slow down and sleep in. I also was intentional about not adding in additional items to my schedule and enjoyed the down time. It was so nice to get outside and enjoy the beautiful San Diego sunshine. ☀️
What wins are you celebrating this week?
