Este taller integral brinda a los padres y las familias una amplia base de información sobre las leyes de educación especial e incluye herramientas y estrategias para redactar IEP efectivos, habilidades de comunicación, redacción de cartas, mantenimiento de registros y documentación, así como los pasos a seguir si no está de acuerdo con el equipo escolar.

Un Programa de Educación Individualizado (IEP) es un documento legal importante que detalla las necesidades de aprendizaje de su hijo, los servicios que brindará la escuela y cómo se medirá el progreso. Cuanto más conozca sobre el proceso del IEP y la ley que lo respalda — la Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) — mejor preparado estará para abogar por su hijo.

Esta formación cubrirá:
• Los 6 principios de IDEA
• El proceso de elegibilidad
• Los asistentes, el proceso y el cronograma del IEP
• Entrega de servicios
• Protección legal – Garantías procesales
