Eating well while traveling or dining out doesn’t have to be complicated.
A few simple rules go a long way
DO THIS
• Lead with protein first (steak, fish, eggs, chicken, burgers no bun)
• Choose healthy fats: olive oil, butter, avocado
• Order steamed or sautéed veggies (ask for avo & olive oil or butter)
• Add fruit for something fresh instead of dessert
• Grilled, baked, broiled beats fried every time
• Salads are great → olive oil + vinegar on the side
• Hydrate with water + minerals, especially when flying
AVOID THIS
• Fried foods (hello seed oils inflammation)
• “Crispy,” “breaded,” or “smothered” anything
• Sugary sauces, glazes, and dressings
• Vegetable oils / canola / soybean oils
• Starting the meal with bread or chips when you’re already hungry
PRO TIP
You don’t need perfect — just better choices most of the time.
Carry your own protein snacks.
Have fun,
Dave
