Do you feel things more deeply than others seem to? Are you easily overwhelmed by crowded spaces and hectic environments? Do you ever need to just withdraw and be alone? If so, you might be a highly sensitive person — someone who has high sensitivity to the sights, sounds, emotional cues, and other stimuli around you.

What is a highly sensitive person? Being highly sensitive comes with a variety of strengths and advantages. At times, it can also lead to overstimulation and exhaustion. If you've experienced trauma, you might notice its effects in your thoughts, emotions, and relationships long after the event, and you don't have to navigate this alone.

CPT is an evidence-based approach designed to help people: understand and reframe unhelpful thoughts related to trauma, reduce guilt, shame, or self-blame, and build skills for coping with distressing memories and triggers. It offers a structured, supportive way to process trauma and regain control over your life.

Taking the first step can feel intimidating, but reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

💬 If you or someone you know is ready to explore CPT, I’m here to support you every step of the way. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone.

Have you experienced trauma that seems to have a persistent grip on your life? Do you find yourself grappling with thoughts like 'I'm not worthy,' 'I'll never find love,' 'I'll always be alone,' 'Nothing is safe,' 'I can't trust anyone,' and more? These thoughts can feel like a daily replay, keeping...

"When reflecting on gratitude, it isn't about invalidating the struggles that you are going through but rather finding the balance of recognizing what we do have while getting through those struggles."

https://www.mindfulsolutionscorp.com/post/three-ways-to-practice-gratitude

When times are tough, it can be difficult to see what is in the other side and hard to be thankful for what we have because we have become so focused on what we don’t have. Gratitude can be a practice that helps to show appreciation and be thankful for what we do have. When reflecting on gratitude...

"Compassion can be a difficult topic to discuss because it can feel like we are being ‘too easy' on ourselves or others. Compassion is the ability to connect and orient toward suffering, either your own or others. You need to be able to be aware of the suffering, emotionally feel that suffering, wish for relief from that suffering, and ability or readiness to move toward action to relieve that suffering."

What is Mindful Solutions?

Do you tell yourself that you aren’t good enough or not smart enough? Do you feel stuck and not able to make progress because those negative thoughts are getting in the way of you being able to reach your goals? We really are our own worst enemy and our critical evaluations of ourselves are often much harsher than we would ever judge anyone else.

Do you wish that you had someone to talk to about these struggles who is safe and unbiased? You are not alone! Working with a therapist that is compassionate and understanding can help you let go of the past and dramatically change your life.

My name is Emmily Weldon and I own and operate Mindful Solutions, a professional counseling service. I would love the opportunity to offer support and understanding to you in navigating your relationship with yourself and learning how to incorporate self-compassion into your life. I provide counseling services via tele-counseling format in Iowa and Florida as an LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) as well as California as an LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor).

Coming to therapy, no matter the reason takes an incredible amount of courage. We are equals and I believe in a true collaboration with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I offer a free 30 minute consultation so that you can see if we are a good fit and whether our schedules match. Please call or email and I will return your call within 48 hours.
