Apologizing for who we are isn't something we were born doing, it's something we learned along the way to protect ourselves. Being true to ourselves may have come at a cost (not being loved, accepted, or feeling that we belonged) or even danger, so we adapted and minimized ourselves. Not only that, π‘our tendency to apologize for who we are has taught other people in our lives how to treat us or what to expect of us.
