Prayer requests!! (Everything is fine). Today we did a Kidney evaluation at UCSD. We were finally explained why my dad's transplant is so difficult. He has major calcification of his artery that they need to tie into. (Which we knew) the part we didn't know is that if they place a clamp on the artery then it will crumble into pieces. However if they can find a small area to place clamps and it would still give enough blood flow to his legs then they will do the transplant. This is where we are requesting prayers. Please pray that they can find an area to clamp and attach a Kidney. If the surgeon sees an area they will try and expedite everything to get his transplant done as soon as they can as the calcification can grow and prevent a transplant from being possible.

The down fall is we would need a living donor becuase the Kidney list is 10 year waiting list. Plus there is a better success rate with living donors. My dad will only have 1 shot at a kidney transplant in his life time. We have a link for people to apply. We are going to hold off releasing it for now. Until we know if they can do it or not. We don't want whoever is willing to be evaluated to apply for no reason.

The final and most risky option. Is Mayo clinic in Arizona does high risk transplants where they would use another artery and bypass the calcification and then tie a new Kidney in. (This would be like heart bypass but in his abdomen area). Mayo clinic is the only one who can do this surgery in the US. It's risky and no guarantee they would even accept him. But we have applied and will make a trip to Arizona in January sometime to hopefully see what they can do as well. UCSD would be the best choice as it's close to home and myself, my dad and my kids wouldn't have to move to AZ for 3 months.

All this to say please pray that we get a call by the end of the week saying that there is room for them to clamp and attach the Kidney my dad needs this. 🙏

Love you all,
Desiree

We haven't updated in awhile. It took us some time to process the unfortunate news that Tim was denied a Kidney at Scripps here in San Diego. However we are excited to let you know he has applied for a Kidney at UCSD here in San Diego and Mayo Clinic of Arizona. While it took a toll on us hearing he was denied that doesn't mean he won't have a chance for approval at another hospital. Unfortunate, Scripps likes to keep their high success rate and my dad was a risk for their numbers. Please send good thoughts and prayers that he will be accepted into on of these hospitals. We will update everyone but believe no stone will go unturned to find my dad a Kidney!

Love Always,
Desiree

Our post has been seen by over 2,000 people. We would love if you shared our post. I know the thought of donating a kidney seems like a scary thing. Did you know that we only need 1 kidney? The transplant team does full medical workup to make sure your not at risk of kidney failure. You could help save someone life! Dialysis is exhausting mentally and physically. My dad is young and has so much life left to live.

This journey already has been quite an emotional roller coaster. A few months ago we requested for my dad (Timothy Sorgini) to be evaluated at Mayo Clinic in Arizona. Unlike here in San Diego Mayo Clinic waitlist and how quick they move is faster then here. We received good news last week that they are accepting applications for kidney donation. With Timothy's kidney function declining we hope to get this process started as soon as possible.

Things to know:
It begins with an online application and heath screener. This doesn't mean your committed to donate. Unfortunately a lot of people won't be a match so we need as many as we can.

Yes you would have to come out to Arizona for the transplant, but it's just a few day stay. (Trip will be paid for)

Yes you can live with just 1 kidney, and if anything happened in the future and you needed a Kidney you would be bumped to the top of the list instead of a 7 year wait.

Please make sure when applying you provide my dad's name sorgini and his DOB 06/23/1964

Asking everyone for their Prayers for my dad! He's going back in for another surgery for the arteries in his legs. He had one more blockage in his hip area. Hoping this is the last one. We also will have a good news post 🤞in a few days so keep a look out. Thank you all for the love and support for my dad.

More then ever I need your help! My dad is currently in 3rd place, this round is top 1 from each group 😳. He has made it several rounds and hes so close. Please share and vote daily. Also they have votes for sale and it can be a tax write off too. His story bellow.

My dad is currently in the running to win the chance to build a bike with Paul Teutul from orange county choppers and appear on their show. This year hasn't been the easiest for my father. On August 1st he was diagnosed with end stage kidney failure and placed on dialysis 3 times a week while currently waiting to be placed on the kidney transplant list. Hes also had 4 arteries and vein surgeries this past month which has allowed him to walk again. While still needing physical and cardiac therapy.

My dad is the most loving and caring father and grandfather. He is my kids only male in their life. His struggles hasn't been easy, this would be such an amazing experience for him to go through. Definitely a bucket list item that he deserves. He's always had a passion for motorcycle, some of my favorite memories with his was riding on the back of his bike. If I could only make this wish come true for him. This is where I'm asking my community to please go vote daily for my dad. 1 free vote per day and additional Votes are also on sale right now 2 votes cost 1 dollar all the money goes to the SPCA. I would greatly appreciate if you wouldn't mind going and voting for him. They don't make you sign up for an account its super easy. Thank you

Will Tim Sorgini get to experience the opportunity of a lifetime?

This morning my dad had his surgery on his other leg this morning. He currently in recovery for the next 5-6 hours. His artery in his leg was completely blocked from his groin to his knee. No wonder why walking was so hard and he was in so much pain. They placed several steints in his legs and all looks good now. Just another step on this road to recovery and kidney transplant. Monday he will have vein surgery but that will be in a medical office not in a hospital.

Update: My dad is out of surgery and in recovery for 5-6 hours. He should be released around 5-6pm. They did 2 steints and ballooned some areas. 1 leg down for the arteries. On Monday he will have another procedure in the office for his veins. Then in 2 week they will do his other leg arteries on Friday and then veins on Monday. We are on the road to repair.

This is a hurdel we are facing for the team to place him on their transplant list. We need to get the blood flow to his legs the best we can for transplant. For the transplant team to accept my dad at the hospital he goes to. Please pray that this will be effective and get him placed on the list soon!!!
