This morning I saw a new patient. The daughter was super upset at us because they only have Medicare part A “hospital coverage”. The daughter was confused and screaming at me and my office for booking the appointment “promising” we took part A. I continued to calmy explain the situation and try diffuse the situation 💣
Eventually, she agreed to pay out of her own pocket for the treatment to treat her mother. I then completed the treatment with no less care than i would for my own family.
At the end, the daughter walked out of the room with her mother, and continued complaining to me about insurance. 😓
I politely told them that today is my Birthday and there is “No Charge”.
They were shocked, grateful, and humbled at the same time. 😵💫
I almost got teary eyed because i knew it was difficult but the right thing to do.
