Treating lice by yourself can be frustrating especially when there are still visible nits left in the hair, it can take several weeks to few months if not properly cleaned.
When you schedule a professional treatment with us we make sure to remove all live bugs and visible nits. The technician will educate you on how to maintain the treatment results so no need for a second treatment. Following the instructions will ensure elimination of the infection.
So instead of dealing with lice for a whole month+ you’ll be eradicate within 1 professional comb through and few quick checks by you (if your technician advised) to ensure that the last nit (that was too small to come out on the initial treatment) is damaged and / or removed.

Happy Halloween! 🎃
Here are 3 useful tips to prevent getting head lice when purchasing Halloween costumes:

1. Purchase your Halloween costume online. Ordering online can reduce the chances of picking up a bug by 80%-90%. In-store purchases may carry the risk of head lice left on costumes by others trying them on. To avoid this, use the online size chart to help find the right fit, and consider ordering a few options. Worst case scenario, you can return what you don’t use. Most online stores accept returns of unused items in their original packaging—just be sure to check the return policy. If you have extra costumes, consider donating them to local charities! Many communities host Halloween costume drives at libraries, schools, and children’s stores around this time of year.
2. If you prefer purchasing in-store, make sure to wash the costume before wearing it. If washing isn’t possible, leave the costume in its bag for 48 hours (head lice can only survive for two days without a host) or place the costume in the freezer for 12 hours to kill any lingering lice.
3. Make your own ! Kids love the creativity that comes with making their own costumes. Let their imagination run wild and create something fun together!

Checking your kids once a month will prevent you and your family from lice infestation.
How to check?
There are 2 ways you can choose:
1) Dry check- in a bright light search through the hair for Nits (lice eggs) they’ll be glued to the hair shaft about 3 millimeters from the scalp, the eggs are glued and will not move when you try to move them. They can be pulled out with your thumb and index finger.

2) wet check- use oil base or conditioner, cover the entire hair, comb out with a regular comb to untangle the hair and then pass the lice comb through the hair, wipe down the comb on dump paper towel, see anything?
Lice is brown colored bug with 6 legs.
Nits are clear shells with a brown bug inside, it’s shape is oval with a little tail one on side.
