During this stressful time of our lives, Carlyn and I have been shorter with each other than normal. We catch ourselves, patch things up, and move on almost immediately. We realize that Carlyn's juggling so many things, especially with her mom hospitalized from last Saturday through New Year's Day, and we have several things going on in preparation for the new year. So we remind ourselves that (1) God's got this, (2) EG is R (extra grace is required), and (3) we are stronger together.
Do you catch yourselves being short and bickering with each other lately? Besides the 3 points I shared earlier, consider what Paul said in Ephesians 4:29-32...
"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."
Please don't major on the minors. Be aware and care! Your spouse is your partner, not your adversary. Satan is your adversary and he wants to kill, steal, then destroy your marriage! Just say "NO" to him and "I love you" to your spouse.
