Understanding delivery formats is part of understanding formulation. Here are a few common questions:

Q: What are suppositories?
A: Suppositories are a delivery format designed for localized, non-oral administration. Instead of being swallowed, they are absorbed through the colon wall.

Q: Why would someone use this format?
A: Delivery method influences how the body processes a formulation. Using a re**al application allows the body to absorb the medicine at a slower rate. First it breaks the lymphatic system, then breaks through the blood brain barrier. The process takes about 4 to 6 hours to be fully experienced by the user.

Q: How is this different from oral products?
A: Infusions, tinctures and concentrates break the blood brain barrier once the product is introducted to the users saliva. This allows the medicine to be experienced fully on contact.

Q: Is this a new trend?
A: No. Suppositories have been used in pharmacy and medicine for decades as a recognized alternative route of administration.
