Did you know that physical exercise also equals brain fitness? It decreases the rate of dementia and cognitive problems with age by HALF!

According to Dr. John Medina —a developmental molecular biologist focused on the genes involved in human brain development - exercise increases oxygen flow to the brain, which reduces brain-bound free radicals. In addition, in order to get more oxygen to the brain, you need more blood vessels, and exercise increases and deepens blood vessels. Exercise ALSO ACTS DIRECTLY on the molecular machinery of the brain itself; it increases neurons’ creation, survival, and resistance to damage and stress.

For optimal benefits, exercise a minimum of 30 minutes a day.

Happy Monday Everyone!! Goal for this week: H2O! Drink at least eight cups of water everyday.

And about that lemon in your water: it makes the pH of your water turn alkaline, helping to counter the acidity in your body. Why is this important? Because acidity promotes intracellular inflammation, which is caused by consuming processed foods, especially processed dairy and grains.

Sitting is to your spine like sugar is to your teeth. If you have a sedentary job, make sure you are drinking water throughout the day. It's not just good for you, it will also force you to get up and walk to the bathroom - and give you a chance to stretch.

Tip: Add a few lemon drops to your water. This will make your water alkaline. Why is this so important? Stay tuned!
