Have you ever heard of a Harmony Double flute? For all the years that I’ve been playing flute I have never had one of these in my hands to play.

And I have to say, they are super cool and versatile!

The ‘harmony’ part of the name comes from the fact that there are multiple drone notes, which you can change whenever you like to get lots of different sounds versus your typical drone flute, which just has one note.

This harmony double flute design is named Airbender, is a Vibe Flute and available to purchase directly on the Beautiful Sounds website.

Who has been dreaming of a great travel case for their Spiral Rainstick? Well I have for sure!

Honestly I could t be happier with these quality now that I have them in my hand. So many thoughtful elements have gone into them….kiddos for all the effort.

One handed Innato played with a beautiful Mundo Music ceremonial drum (both available for sale). These sound layers make up the foundation for this improvised vocal which feels super earthy to me - what about you?

A sweet improvised pairing of the Journey Harp and matching Freenotes Wing (both in C Major). Perfect for a rainy day here in San Diego, hope you enjoyed too.

I’m no expert on playing Harp but the Journey Harp is tuned in a scale that allows you to sound good right away.

It took a little bit of concentration to play on both instruments at once but I sure loved the result. Like a little lullaby.

I began this lovely musical exploration with the improvisational sounds of the Freenotes Wings as the focal point, and began layering and shaping the sounds from there with back beats and synthesizer, bass ukulele, and vocals. This is the result!

Keep exploring your instruments in new ways and you will discover a completely new sound emerging from you. Immerse yourself in the creative process for yourself and see what happens when you are just experimenting.

Freenotes Wings are available on the Beautiful Sounds website. They are an awesome addition to any set up, and come in four different tunings. In this video, I am using a combination of the A Minor Wing and the G major Wing.

F Wayunki fits perfectly with this A major Somni Arkana chime! Why? Because they are in what is called “relative scales” which means they actually contain exactly the same notes in the same order but both scales begin start their scale on a different note. I think that’s so cool!

I hope you enjoyed this mashup with the Wayunki and Arkana!

Knowing the spirit and intention of how an instrument came into the world can really bring a deeper experience when you play it.

The Reverie Harp has a beautiful origin story. It was created to be an easy to play stringed instrument in hospice and hospital settings.

The intention was for anybody to be able to create an experience it sound to bring more peace to the listener.

Now more and more sound healers are discovering that they can incorporate this kind of stringed instrument into their sessions to bring the same peaceful feeling to their participants. And of course, to themselves as well.

You can play this instrument too, as it is designed for beginners or there are no wrong notes and playing it simply as all you need to do. More experienced string instrument players can create complex arrangements, but this is not necessary in a sound healing context for it to be effective for regulating the nervous system.
