The last day! It started very tempestuously as I felt a lot of pressure to prepare for class, attend the studio celebration, then race home for a smaller celebration bbq at home.

Everything was perfect and I'm reflecting on the month. I feel very calm and I feel so lucky to have had this opportunity to share with my friends. The daily practice really has given me focus and changed the way I look at things in ways I'm still figuring out. Anxiety issues, way down, energy, way up.

Would I do it again? In an instant! But I am also looking forward to a day off tomorrow... but know I will be back in the hot room very soon. Cris will continua her journey for another 70 days. I will follow along. Here are photos from the last day. Cris we are dying to see your pretty bow! - N

Well more dreams. Last night I dreamt that Randy and I got lost at a street festival and couldn't find the car. It was like 9:30 and I had to go to my last class of the 30 day challenge. We ran into some family and I was asking them for directions and they didn't seem concerned and it was really stressing me out. Randy had walked ahead. When I went to call Randy my cell phone was not mine but someone else's and the strange family was trying to help me find the owner of that phone. I remember waking up really stressed out just as I realized I could always do the 4:30. I WILL BE AT THE 10:00 TODAY!!!

*** DAY 29 ***

One of the reasons I started Bikram Yoga was because I would get knee pain if I ran over a mile. It was very frustrating. When I first began this yoga, some of the postures were very painful in my knees, particularly Fixed Firm pose. About 2 months into my practice my knees were completely swollen and stayed this way for at least a month. Jim said it had to do with using muscles in my knees that I'd never used before; waking them up. I am not claiming to be an expert, but something worked! I took the photo here showing fixed firm pose today after a 6 mile run, pain free! - N

Word that comes to mind for today's practice; "sweatlodge". I knew going in it would be brutal, so in light of that, I'm ok with taking 3 shortish breaks, and finishing strong. Enjoying the challenge, but ready for a day off! How about you Cris ?

*** DAY 27 ***

I worried that my last comments came off as defeatist Cris, i.e. 'this is my practice' and having to implement the "anteater" to survive. I'm still practicing to improve every day. I am also aware of my limitations. This blog, (even if noone is reading it, lol), has given me structure and goals to aim for. And having you there, Cris has been my rock of support. Who would have thought yoga could be so much work! I will try to remember as I lay dying in another hour or so... how great you get to feel after the 90 minutes of agony. (Hope that didn't come off negative??). N

Cris, I spoke for both of us when I posted "feeling optimistic". Hope I am not being presumptuous. I am thinking not.
