There are moments in life where we find ourselves facing circumstances too big... too out of our control… too far from what we imagined would ever happen to us.

When we first find ourselves facing the unimaginable, we try to stay hopeful. We do our best to keep our faith and remind ourselves that our God is good, and He will take this situation away. But sometimes, time passes and countless prayers are prayed, and yet we still find ourselves facing the same grim situation.

What do we do when we’ve done all we can, but instead of seeing positive change, we’ve just seen things get worse?

When the diagnosis couldn’t be worse...
When you feel absolutely crippled by fear and anxiety...
When you’ve run out of solutions…

Sweet friend, we know what you are facing right now may not be going the way you want it to or the way you have prayed for. But we can trust the Bible to show us that our perspective is not all there is to see right now.

Isaiah 55:8-9 says, “‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.’”

We can remind ourselves that God sees the whole picture. He sees what we can’t see. His thoughts and ways are above ours, and we can still trust His plan even if it isn’t happening the way we’d like it to.

What are you choosing to trust God with again, today?

I don't have a degree. I was smart enough to go. I was even accepted to some great schools. But my parents couldn't front that kind of money and even at 17 I knew being saddled with that heavy debt wasn't worth it to me.

I wanted to work hard and learn everything I could, so I made a choice for myself to go to trade school. I got into a special program that paid for my cosmetology by waiting on a list for my turn. I abided by the rules of the Contract, and when I was finished with my education and passed my State Boards, I began my own business. I was 19.

I stayed in that industry for 13 years. All the while I kept learning, growing, taking classes, going to seminars, and conferences in many areas of business and varied interests. I was also reading constantly. I still do.

I then went to another trade school, this time online, and became a personal trainer. This time I paid cash for my education and National Board exams. I worked in that industry for 3 years and the when the pandemic hit I began to work for my daughter's school in the areas of business and administration.

My personal opinion is we need to teach those that are young who are in our path a desire learn, work hard, and abide by the choices we each make.

I haven't written in a long time about anything of substance (I even closed my wellness blog) because frankly, I would rather have a face to face conversation than a keyboard argument....and I never want to wound.

But I also truly enjoy reading people's anecdotal thoughts and stories about issues of the day. I figured hey, maybe my story could be helpful to some people trying to see all sides of this thing. I assure you I'm reading all sides too.

Nothing but love here

For a long time I volunteered with one of my favorite Non Profit organizations on the planet, .am.fruitful

I wore a few hats while there before God called me into education in May of 2020 and my favorite was dwelling in God's presence, asking Him for Words of encouragement and exhortation for our His daughters. I would them write them and post them to the social media followers. Oh how I loved those slow and scared days of blogging away in my Kings presence...I pray I can still be used by Him to uplift and encourage.

I needed this today in my own life, penned by me years ago, but downloaded to my spirit by a God who loves so big.

Love. Do you feel it? Do you know it? This is all I have reserved for you. It is the only seat I offer you; it is front row to my unending offering of everything I have.

For you are mine and I am yours.

Open to me and let it sink in. Even when you may feel like you are pulling up the covers, turning off the lights and laying down in disappointment and discouragement, flick the switch, see the light and dead-stare into my eyes. I wait, not to scold, but to let you know that you are mine.

Inhale.

I want all of you. I delight in all of you. The places where you are falling are the places I am uprising. Will you trust me?

I just want you, all of you, in my hands, mold-able, breakable, pliable, make-able, and malleable so that I can make you incredible as you lay back into the warmth of my will.

Stay with me. Take heart. Don’t fear my process of remake, but open yourself up to it. Let love sink in – into the cracks, into the chaffed edges and into the unseen – so I can revive every cell you believe is of disrepair. I promise, I work wonders for your beauty.

You see, my love is the healing point of all pain.
My love is the answer to your lash-outs.
My indwelling love is the answer to your out-dwelling peace.
My love is the end of condemnation and the beginning of affirmation.
My love is the termination of avoidance and the conception of acceptance.
My love is arms around you when agony is present.
My love is the only current that removes the constant buzz of unbelieving.
My love is the invitation in a world of being uninvited.

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again;
rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to son-ship.
And by Him we cry, “Abba, Father.” Will you give it a chance? A chance to just – be and not do? A chance to sit with my heart as you sit quiet on your couch?

Beloved, I chose you. I made you. I want you.

Cherished child, don’t let love become cliche. Common. Normal. Ordinary. See it afresh. Consider it anew. Resign yourself to know that you can never know the fullness of my love; there is always more and more to it.

So, step back, hold on tight and let it flood your insides so that it floods your world. You and me.

Forever yours,

The Author of Love
Jehova

I fell captive to a lie in 2017.

Satan whispered it in my ear daily, he really wore me down.

I wrestled with why God would allow such pain.

I was tired of hurting.

I heard myself say to the Lord while I was praying: "I don't want to play this game anymore."

"What game?" He whispered back.

"This game. Life. This isn't fun. What's the point if all we do is keep losing?"

"Oh my. Who told you this was a game? You're not a chess piece. You're My Child."

This truth did not take root immediately, but a seed was planted.

It took years to get back to this place of feeling loved.

Daily walking in His word and staying connected to His community, I eventually learned to believe this again.

I am His child.

I don't claim to understand it all.
I don't have all the answers.

But today I can tell you this with 💯 certainty.

He loves you.
He's not "playing" with you.
He wants a relationship with you.

"What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it—we’re called children of God! That’s who we really are. But that’s also why the world doesn’t recognize us or take us seriously, because it has no idea who he is or what he’s up to." 1 John 3

From my stirred heart to yours,
Erica

Pretty much everything big started out small. What small things are you doing today that will take you to the next level tomorrow?

The grass may seem greener on the other side, but it’s astroturf. Grow where you’re planted with Jesus. When you sell out for Him and the Gospel wherever you are, there will be fruit.

You have a stressful job. Constant, impeding stress. But setting boundaries can help you not carry that stress into other parts of your day and life. Here are some tips:

🤍Be mindful of the tension in your body (ie.tight shoulders and chest). When your body is tense, it’s hard to relax and get that blood flowing efficiently. Stretch and deep breathe- it will help you control the physical stress on your body.
🤍When you leave work, leave work. Take a deep breath in the car and prepare yourself for an evening with those you love or alone and enjoying solitude. Don’t pick your computer back up.
🤍 When you feel yourself getting overwhelmed, take a break. Even if it’s just for a couple minutes- try to break away to take a few deep breaths, say a prayer, drink some water. Allow yourself to break away whenever you need it.
🤍 Do something you love at least once per week. It can be anything- vegging in front of the tv, going out with friends, attending your kids’ games, or going for a hike or jog. Whatever you do- do it for yourself and the joy it brings to YOU.
🤍 Talk to someone. Whether you’re venting or just getting some advice, talking about your day and week and highs and lows is good for you! Don’t stay negative, but get the frustrations out and find solutions. Talking things out helps relieve stress and feelings of drowning.

Remember- stress can manifest passively, and sometimes we won’t even notice the effects on our bodies until much later. Constant fatigue is a sure sign you’re carrying too much stress around. Your heart and brain are organs and they need lots of care to stay healthy. Do not give stress the real estate in your body that it doesn’t deserve.

It’s a life long journey...

I am passionate about health and wellness in all areas, not just the physical and I have been for years. BUT I am also human and have been through alot. I intimately understand the grind. I have always been athletic, from varsity basketball in high school to high intensity interval training, CrossFit, running half marathons, hiking, cycling, swimming, boot camps…even rollerblading I love it all. I was born and raised in San Diego, CA however I love Texas and am so very happy to be here. I often tell people I wasn’t born here, but I came as soon as I could! A fun fact about me is I am a licensed cosmetologist in California. That career started my love for being a part of people’s life journeys. So that accompanied by my passion for all things health and fitness, is what urged me to become a nationally certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise, as well as a Beach Body Coach. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have three gorgeous daughters. Since becoming a mother, I have had many weight gains and losses, and various health concerns and challenges. I will share more about those in my posts, so stay tuned in. These ongoing issues have given me what I consider my humbling and very real understanding for what women go through in all phases of life. These battles don’t defeat me; they make me work that much harder, even when I make mistakes along the way. I hope that encourages you to know you can do whatever you set your mind to and I will help you! I am forever learning and growing in my knowledge, strength, and ability. I am on a journey towards regaining my physical health after some pretty gnarly detours on my journey. I am joy filled, and full of life despite my challenges and I want that for you too. My goal is to be a steady and consistent resource for you as well as a knowledgeable and motivating trainer and coach to help you achieve all of your goals. I want to give you the tools to live the life you want to be living. Putting your emotional, mental, spiritual and physical health as a top priority isn’t selfish, its crucial to your well being. Make the choice today to be your best self! Want to come along with me on my climb?
