's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ming-Tse(Michael) Tsai, presented the results of our clinical trial collaboration with UC San Diego ( UCSD) at the American Heart Association (AHA) Scientific Sessions in Chicago in November 2024. The study focused on enhancing the effectiveness of remote care for cardiac rehabilitation patients (including heart failure) using digital and AI tools. The scheduled initially one-hour interaction was extended to 1.5 hours due to enthusiastic discussions. Additionally, Dr. Pam, the Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Center at UCSD, joined the stage to jointly present our collaborative achievements and commend our contributions to promoting the health of cardiac rehabilitation patients.

We visited UCSD today and was thrilled to see how beautifully our remote patient care solution has been implemented. It's gratifying to know that our solution is helping heart failure and heart surgery patients become healthier. We hope to continue helping them improve their health for secondary prevention. Additionally, we aim to assist them in making lifestyle changes that will lead to lasting improvements in their health.

Heart failure is a condition that affects millions of people worldwide. While it may seem counterintuitive, physical activity (PA) can be incredibly important for heart failure patients. PA helps to strengthen the heart, improve blood flow, and reduce the risk of developing other health problems such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Home-based PA can range from simple activities such as walking and stretching to more intense workouts such as resistance training and aerobic exercise.

However, before starting any physical activity, heart failure patients should first consult with their healthcare provider to determine what level of activity is safe for them. Additionally, monitoring vital signs such as heart rate and blood pressure during PA is essential. This will help patients to set realistic goals and make adjustments to their exercise regimen as needed.

At Kura Care, we are honored to work with the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) to develop a comprehensive telehealth platform that enables remote monitoring of patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and activity level. With this innovative technology, patients can safely engage in PA at home while their healthcare providers remotely monitor their progress and adjust their treatment plans as necessary.

In conclusion, physical activity is crucial for heart failure patients, and doing PA at home can be a great option. But it's important to remember that proper judgment and monitoring are essential to ensure patients' safety and optimize their outcomes.
