Fresh flowers on wedding cakes are one of my favorite design elements—soft, romantic, organic, and endlessly customizable. But here’s the truth most couples never hear:
Not all flowers are safe for cakes.
Some are edible. Some are technically nontoxic.
And some can leak sap that should never be anywhere near your buttercream or else your guests may be on the toilet instead of the dance floor.
There or plenty of alternatives, ask your baker or florist!
