🌟 Woah! 🌟 2025 is over so Year 2 is officially in the books! And what a year it has been. But first let me recap the last 3 months:

🌟 October 🌟

🦷 Had my first table at an event for Southern Caregiver Resource Center and gave free oral cancer screenings 👄

🦷 Celebrated 9 years as a RDH 🍾

🦷 Helped out with my first in-person CE event with CDHA San Diego

🦷 Participated in my first Dental Hygiene Month w/

🦷 Spoke my story for the first time at a financial education meeting 💰

🦷 Announced one of my 2025 secrets, due in February 2026 👶🏽

🌟 November 🌟

🦷 Joined my first Southbay Senior Providers meeting and met a great connection 🫱🏻‍🫲🏾

🦷 Met with Naviguide and found another great resource to share with patients!

🦷 Enjoyed a lovely friendsgiving with CDHA San Diego 🦃

🌟 December 🌟

🦷 Participated in my first Statewide Taskforce for Oral Health meeting 🙌🏾

🦷 Turned in my vendorization paperwork for San Diego Regional Center 📝

🦷 Finished my last prerequisite class for the RN program that I will be applying to THIS MONTH. (My other 2025 secret!) AND kept a 4.0 GPA for all three semesters. 🤓

So yes, I went back to school this year and no, I am NOT switching careers or becoming a dentist. 😉 The plan is to become a home health RN and expand the ways to help my patients.

2025 was a whirlwind. Worked full-time in private practice, attended to patients every month homebound and facility, went to school in the evenings, got licensed to help families financially and started growing a baby.

2026 will be full of changes, more opportunities for growth and a whole new era. Continuing on the path to helping as many people as I can in health and wealth. 💜

🌟 RDH Anniversary 🌟

TODAY marks 9 years of officially becoming a Registered Dental Hygienist and embarking on a journey I never could have fathomed. Originally, I became a hygienist thinking I'd do it for a few years to help my family and go back for biomedical engineering. If you told me then that I'd fall in love with this career and even move on to be a RDHAP with her own practice and with a passion for helping people with limited access to healthcare; I'd literally say you were crazy 😵‍💫 But I'm so happy that this little woman matured, realized her true passion in this field and am so excited to see where it leads me next! Happy Anniversary to me! 🎉

🌟 SCRC Event 🌟

Last week, I had the pleasure of offering free oral cancer screenings at Southern Caregiver Resource Center's event for caregivers. This was a wonderful event connecting caregivers to various resources offered for them. They also had a presentation providing great information about dementia and diabetes for the attendees. Thank you to my fellow hygienist Nancy for helping me out and being an amazing translator 🙏🏽

At the start of the month, SCRC posted a new podcast segment as part of their series, "Let's Talk Caregiving" featuring myself discussing who RDHAPs are, importance of oral healthcare and tips for caregivers in regards to oral care. Please see the link in my bio for a listen and to check out the other informative and interesting segments featured there!

🌟 September 🌟

The beginning of the -ber season! Full of holidays and prepping for the new year 🎉

🦷 Added a new license under my name to expand the services of my practice! Interested in getting out of debt and expanding your future opportunities? 🦷 Started yoga on Sundays to help reduce the stress of the everyday. As you may notice, I keep a full plate and one thing I learned about earlier this year is burnout is all too REAL. Many in my profession get it but there are ways to prevent it. Yoga has been a way for me to recapture my breath and ground me to enjoy the present. 🌺

🦷 Therapy has been in and out of my life through all its ups and downs. I'm not afraid to say that I have brought it back in again. As I enter a scary, exciting new era in my life, I want to be ahead of my thoughts and emotions so I have sought help before, rather than after this time. I encourage ANYONE in struggle or who forsee struggle or even want to just figure themselves out to consider therapy. What have you got to lose? 😉

As I grow and expand my practice, I grow and expand myself. The influx of new knowledge and learning new ways to help people just continually makes me fall in love with myself and my passion. I want to spread this love to everyone who will accept it and I hope that more people can find this within themselves. Happy holiday season 🎉

🌟 August 🌟

Final catch up month!

Highlights:

🦷 Attended a great CE course that discussed new and old products for patients that I will definitely be implementing in my practice. 🪥

🦷 Attended a paint party with coworkers I have met in the field that have turned to amazing friends. 🎨

🦷 Picked up a MAJOR piece of equipment from a fellow RDHAP in OC that is a key to my independence. 🔑

🦷 One of the busiest month's of the year with multiple patients every week. Plus starting my last prerequisite class for the program I'm gunning for...details soon if all goes well. 😉

One thing my personal struggles lately have taught me is to slooow dooown and take care of myself. My main goal is just to help others but that will not be accomplished if I am not taking care of myself. Another thing is knowledge is power. Our healthcare system needs YOU to advocate for yourself but you don't know what you don't know. Look out for some fun changes in my content pushing education and advocation.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend all the fundraising events I have in the past this year but best believe I'm still giving back because these groups need us more than ever and hopefully you'll join me! 🙏🏽

Remember, take care of YOU first and never stop learning. 📚
