When was the last time you went 30 Days without any alcohol (I mean ZERO)? If you can't remember, then I challenge you to give it a try, even if just for the experience and to see how you feel at the end of the 30 days. Then you can decide from there if you want to go back to your normal drinking, reduce your alcohol consumption or quit altogether.

The pros of me not drinking: I feel better, look better, work better, have more energy, more clarity, more focus, more money, I have better quality friends, I really enjoy a nice ice cold water with a piece of squeezed lime, I don’t miss alcohol, I realize I CAN party like a rock star WITHOUT alcohol, I can socialize and feel confident in a group of strangers without needing the crux of alcohol...and my friends who’ve known me a long time say today I’m a considerably nicer and more agreeable person. The cons: It sometimes gets awkward explaining to new friends or business associates why you don’t drink. BUT…that initial awkwardness is felt by THEM, not by you. And you can’t control how they feel. If you decide you want to give it a try, trust that the pros will likely outweigh the cons. Set yourself a 30-day-goal. Or a two or three-month goal. Test it. See how you feel. See if it works for you.

People often confuse efficiency with effectiveness. I focus on the latter, and only add the prior if I am sure I am doing the right things to move me closer towards achieving my goal(s) and producing the desired outcome I am after.

To help me do so I say NO to a lot of negative, neutral and even good things to make room for the great things in life. I like having an anorexic calendar. In fact, I try to have 3 or fewer things planned per day—and not even everyday. The key though is to make the few things scheduled on your calendar truly important.

This also makes room in your day-to-day for habits, routines and schedules that add up to make monumental shifts in your life.

What about you? How do you schedule your time? And is it in alignment with your values?

Even if they are serious opportunities, even if it will only take 15 minutes, even if it’s something that everyone else does, I’d like to avoid it.

For your own good, and the good of others, please share your positive moments, work, wins and successes. We all need to be reminded each and every day how amazing life truly is...especially in a world that is full of negative noise.

I have found that if you do more of the latter, the tendency to do the prior gets less and less.

Stay at home Moms or Dads—and parents in general that raise children to be good, decent, caring and contributing members of society are so valuable. Parenting is a one of, if not the most important jobs someone can have. And we shouldn't take it lightly. These are people who are signing up for the lifelong responsibility to protect, mentor and raise other human beings from children into adults who go on to significantly impact you, me and the rest of the planet. My hats off to them.

There is nothing stronger than habits! We make them and then they make us. So be intentional when designing your your routines. Dave Asprey has some good ones you can steal and try out for yourself.

Dave Asprey says he wants to hack death. Here is what he does in the morning, during the day, and at night to (hopefully) reach that goal.

Don't let yourself be owned! By anything, anybody, any experience, any memory, any thought, any feeling or any narrative that you or others tell you about yourself.

Talk about TEAMWORK! We should all strive to take this approach in our lives more often...

Chronic busyness is just another form of laziness. It also happens to be the arch nemesis to personal growth and development. Don't let yourself or those that you care about become so time and energy poor that they can't afford to pay attention to what truly matters. We all have enough time. We simply have to choose to spend it appropriately to get what it is we want in life. May the clock be with you!
