Your Community Midwife

Your Community Midwife I am a Community Midwife in the San Diego area. I can assist you with your birth, your reproductive health needs and fertility counseling.

I am a married mother of two girls, ages 10 and 16. I've trained as a labor and birth doula through DONA, and my true passion is offering postpartum support to new moms and their families as well as being a birth and labor doula. I remember when I got home with my first beautiful little girl and thought, "She's so great. How the heck did they let me leave the hospital with her? I have NO IDEA what I'm doing." And thus, between diaper changes and breastfeeding dilemmas, the Practically Postpartum classes were born. I want to help you make sure that you're as prepared as you can be for the wonderful ups and downs that come with those first precious weeks at home with your newborn. We'll talk about everything: sleep and the lack thereof, feeding schedules and diaper choices, how your partner can be helpful, your baby registry, how to handle it if you're not ready for visitors, even if those visitors are family. I look forward to hearing your stories, answering your questions and helping you navigate through the Fourth Trimester. I offer professional postpartum doula services as well as the Practically Postpartum workshops on a regular basis. Please message me if you're interested in a phone consultation or a visit.

Just heard a fantastic lecture from Dr. Sabrina Strings at San Diego Central Library. I knew in my heart of hearts that BMI was bu****it. Now Dr Strings has connected some dots to confirm that. Sabrina Strings Author Talk | Fearing the Black Body

Greetings SDCBC Family,

We are excited to announce that the office of County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher, of San Diego's Fourth District will be honoring the work of San Diego Community Birth Center with a proclamation to be given at the next Board of Supervisors meeting, on Tuesday, March 1st at 9:00 am. 🎊
