I like to start my week with an intense yoga practice followed by a detox through dry sauna and steam. Yoga helps facilitate lymphatic function and sweat and steam are a vital part of the detoxification process.

🧖🏻‍♀️ Hot steam for 12-18 minutes improves circulation, moisturizes skin, good for clearing congestion (especially when coupled with essential oils, such as eucalyptus) aids in post workout recovery while burning calories and boosts your immune system while removing toxins.

Start your week with the best possible self care! Much love! 🙏🏽 ❤️

🚫 NO CHEMICALS 🚫

Cosmetics have little to no regulations and are usually loaded with harmful ingredients, many that are known to be toxic and even cancer causing. What goes on your skin, goes into your bloodstream. Heavily perfumed body care items disrupt your hormones making it harder for your body to detox properly which is necessary for optimal health. You can make your own moisturizer, lotion, and even sunscreen with a small investment in natural organic oils, butters and essential oils.

Gently melt the solid oils and butter with steam to preserve the properties, add oils for your specific needs (dry skin, anti-aging, acne, etc.) chill to solidify, whip and store. 😊🧴

BACTERIA 🧫 🔬🧪🧬

We’re essentially one big host for bacteria! I know that sounds crazy, but it’s true! The probiotics or beneficial bacteria, in our bodies keep our systems healthy. They even play a significant role in our mental health, are imperative for digestion and keep your skin looking clear and youthful. Things like medications (antibiotics), alcohol, processed foods, refined sugar and stress deplete and kill these bacteria. It’s important to replenish and yes, even feed, these bacteria to keep them happy, healthy and diverse. You can do this by supplementing with a daily dose or adding things like kombucha, yogurt and fermented foods like kimchi to your diet regularly.

🌱 CBD 🍃 for muscle aches, relaxation and skin care.

There’s no question that CBD has a myriad of health benefits ranging from pain relief from injury and arthritis to stress relief from anxiety and overall mental health care.

CBD can be used in a bath soak or face mask and regularly incorporated into your self care time for mind and body tranquility.

🍃CBD Calming Face Mask for Sensitive Skin
- 2 ounces of rose water
- 2 tablespoons of aloe Vera gel
- 1 tsp of coconut oil
- 1 tsp of raw Manuka honey (if you don’t have Manuka honey, local raw honey can be used)
- 20 mg of full spectrum CBD oil

🍃 CBD Bath Soak
2-3 cups Epsom salts
20 mg of CBD isolate
1/2 cup dried chamomile
7 drops of lavender essential oil
3 drops of rose geranium oil
3 drops Rosemary essential oil

Add this to a bath as hot as you can tolerate, producing a sweat. Soak for at least 20 minutes.

RESENTMENT 💔

When we don’t let go of who and what needs to be let go of, and we don’t move on from things that no longer serve us, we have resentment. We hold resentment in our physical bodies and it can eat away at us, like a cancer and even cause illness and dis-ease. It leaves us comparing ourselves to others and ends up stealing our joy and happiness.

In order to release resentment, you must learn to forgive. Put your hand on your heart, feel it and understand that you are loved and worthy of love. Forgive those that have not treated you correctly and let go of your resentment for them. Forgive them for not being the friend, parent or partner you feel they should have been to you. In forgiving them, you forgive yourself and are able to let go and make room for the happy, healthy relationships you deserve. 💗

Things that constantly drain you are not meant for you.
Maintain boundaries and shift your focus and energy back to yourself. Making your physical and mental well-being the priority.
The rest will work itself out. 💖

🪄 Lemon. Ginger. Warm Water.
If you’ve eaten a big, heavy meal the evening before and woken up with gas, bloating and an overall sluggish feel. Skip breakfast and drink a liter or so of warm (or hot, like tea) lemon ginger water. Sipping slowly, every 15 minutes.
This will help with digestion, easing bloat and gas pressure and help your body to move out toxins - (through 💩 and urine.) Then have an easy to digest meal, something light or plant based for an early dinner. Doing this regularly can help with common gastrointestinal issues.

As we age our nerves weaken. Poor vagal tone has been found to be associated with a number of chronic illnesses and stress symptoms. The vagus nerve is responsible for about 80% of the information our brains send to our organs. Practicing a few of these exercises can help keep your vagus nerve healthy and allow you to react and recover from stress more effectively.
