Controlling What is Within Your Control:

Focus on Actions, Not Outcomes: You can control your actions and behaviors, not the results. Make peace with the effort and let go of the need for specific outcomes.

Mindset: Cultivate a positive mindset. Choose optimism and gratitude, and practice resilience in the face of adversity.

Health: Maintain a healthy lifestyle through exercise, nutrition, and sleep. This impacts your overall well-being.

Letting Go:

Acceptance: Accept that certain things are beyond your control and that trying to control them leads to unnecessary stress.

Mindfulness: Engage in mindfulness practices to stay anchored in the present moment, letting go of past regrets or future worries.

Forgiveness: Forgive yourself and others, letting go of grudges and resentment that can burden your spirit.

By focusing on these areas, you can cultivate a life that is true to who you are, resilient to external pressures, and rich in meaningful relationships and achievements.

Everybody has their own opinions on alcohol and drug addiction, but until you've been there, your opinion means nothing. You don't control addiction, it controls you. There are some fortunate ones who have beat it, but don't think because they're still alive, that life is gravy. They fight everyday, all day to stay sober and clean. It's a constant battle from the time they open their eyes until they close them, and it never goes away. Most are good people who made a bad choice. Battling an addiction is a beast for the person addicted and the ones who love them.
So, in loving memory of every family member and friend who has lost their battle with addiction, and those who continue to conquer it, put this on your page if you know someone who has or had an addiction.
I know who will.
