I’m truly excited to invite you to the “Taste of OG Yoga” event on November 5 and 6. I have been volunteering with OG Yoga for years and am so grateful for the wonderful work they do to provide the healing practices of yoga and mindfulness to survivors of trauma in our underserved communities.

ABOUT THE EVENT
The Taste of OG Yoga event raises funds for and awareness of their mission to holistically transform lives. At the event, you will experience first-hand the work OG Yoga does to heal trauma and release stress. JOIN IN-STUDIO OR VIRTUALLY for all or a part of this 2-day event where you will experience a variety of yoga styles from restorative, gentle hatha, breathwork, to OG flow. These days our mental health is being tested more than ever. We are being hit with stress from many areas of life and it’s taking a toll on each of us. Specifically, our mental health which can have profound negative impacts on our physical health, relationships, career, and overall happiness.

But we have the power to break the inertia of negativity! By engaging in simple mindfulness practices we will be able to let life’s stressors flow off our backs, to be less reactive and get through life’s challenges a little easier. Our mental health matters!

Communication, communication, communication…..
💕💕💕
That was my grandmother’s answer when I asked her how she and my grandfather had been happily married for 60 years. That lesson has stuck with me and I’ve worked hard on improving my communication skills. It’s not easy! Open communication can sometimes be very vulnerable and scary, but it’s necessary to create strong, meaningful connections with others. Not just with your partner, but with your parents, your friends, your co-workers. In fact, this is one of the key components of creating a culture of trust that fosters collaboration, empowerment and fulfillment.

For tips on how to improve your communication skills I recommend engaging in the yoga practice of satya. Satya is Sanskrit for honesty and it asks us to be honest in a way that causes the least amount of harm. It suggests that we communicate what is: 1) honest, 2) beneficial, and 3) will be heard by the person you are speaking to. This is a great guide that I use every day! Test it out for yourself and let me know how it goes!

It worked well for my grandparents who were ultimately married for 71 years! They both passed 1 year before my husband and I were married and I’m so fortunate to have my grandmother’s wedding ring incorporated into mine. Swipe left to see them.⬅️

Ahimsā is the yoga practice of being compassionate and non-harmful. Often times it seems easier to be kinder to others than to ourselves. But when we make an effort to be kinder and more compassionate to ourselves, we can give even more love to others. It’s a win-win! 💗
