“It’s your body” so touch yourself if you want deeper stretches.

Try this technique if you struggle with back bending. Remember to add cushioning under your knee and avoid hinging forward as well as sitting back.

Scared of backbends? Try this!

I’m in the spacious and clean Yoga studio at Equinox Sports Club SF, my FAVORITE space to teach hands down. 🙌

As is previous posts I remind folks that I’m lousy at backbends so I’ve learned secret techniques to get over the fear and frustration of working in back bending poses.

Check out this video and be mindful when practicing headstands ☺️
Tip 1. Put the to of your head on the mat instead of your forehead.
Tip 2. Make sure your hands are back with your knees not forward with your ears.
Tip 3. Be safe! Keep your feet close to the ground instead of trying to take them higher.
Achieving headstands takes practice. It’s important to be sure your head, neck and internal organs are strong and prepared to support the pose.
