This Earth Day, we’re reminded that caring for our planet also means caring for the spaces where our communities gather, heal, and connect. 🌱

A huge thank you to the incredible team at Real Chemistry for rolling up their sleeves and making a tangible impact. In partnership with HealthRIGHT 360, the team spent the day cleaning up and revitalizing their shared courtyard—bringing new life into the space with fresh plants, thoughtfully placed planters, and newly built raised beds.

What was once an underutilized space is now a more welcoming, vibrant environment where clients can gather, reflect, and enjoy a breath of fresh air.

This is what Earth Day is all about: community, care, and collective action that creates lasting impact. 💚

Celebrate Earth Day with Life Science Cares Bay Area!

As we recognize Earth Day on April 22, we invite our community to support our community partner, Larkin Street Youth Services, as they work to transform an outdoor space at one of their San Francisco residential sites.

Through our Earth Day Community Wishlist, donated items will help create a greener, more usable patio area for residents. The space currently lacks seating, shade, and greenery, and this project aims to bring in plants, garden elements, and outdoor furnishings to create a more calming and inviting environment.

Requested items include:

Raised planter bed

Succulents and small plants

Garden soil

Small patio furniture set

Patio umbrella

These supplies will support a volunteer-led project where teams will assemble and set up the space — helping transform the area into a green outdoor environment where residents can gather and spend time outside.

If you'd like to get involved, you can contribute an item from the wishlist below:

Together, we can help create greener, more welcoming space for the community it serves.

In recognition of Women’s History Month, the Exelixis team partnered with Life Science Cares Bay Area to assemble more than 200 feminine care hygiene kits for Safe Passages.

These kits will be distributed through Safe Passages’ Family Resource Center in Oakland to women and families across Alameda County. As Safe Passages shared with the Exelixis team, access to these everyday essentials helps ensure women can show up confident and prepared as they navigate school, work, and daily responsibilities.

Thank you, Exelixis, for supporting women in our community.

We’re grateful to the Exelixis team for volunteering with Safe Passages and CRECE to support last week’s community food distribution.

Exelixis volunteers supported the distribution by stocking and restocking food tables, distributing groceries to community members, and assisting with cleanup. During the distribution, 340 families were served, and 144 food boxes were delivered directly to households across Alameda.
