The most common side effect of Apretude is mild injection-site reactions. Some people may experience temporary pain, tenderness, swelling, redness, or itching where the shot is given. In clinical studies, most reactions were mild to moderate and went away on their own. Severe reactions were very rare, and only a small number of participants stopped treatment because of them. As always, everyone’s experience may vary—talk with your healthcare provider if you have questions about whether injectable PrEP is right for you. 💙
