These will never disappear from my warm-up and training toolbox.

Low to moderate intensity plyometrics using jumps, bounds, hops, and skips is an incredibly under-utilized category as people shift exercise types with age.

If we’re talking about ATTRIBUTES of being a lifestyle athlete:

2. Injury inoculation

5. Neural and Cognitive Benefits
1. Fed by movement variety and novelty

Who doesn’t want more of those? I know I do as long as absolutely possible.

Teasing out the cause of chronic symptoms and breaking the cycle are two very different things. Clinically we try to chip away at both to break the cycle.

Not sure who needs to hear this….

Thousands of nutrition consultations (both non-clinical and clinical) have led to the following observations about Intermittent Fasting/Time Restricted Feeding for weight loss.

1. Roughly 90% don’t have or aren’t able to execute the nutrition related behavioral skills to succeed long-term.
2. A equally large percentage conflate the benefits of extended fasting (>24-48 hours) with 14-16 hour fasting
3. Many end up with rapidly plateaued weight loss OR even weight gain
4. Many have relentless cravings and calorie drive during their feeding window which leads to over-eating and dysfunctional relationship with food relative to their goals - This circles back to number 1.
5. Confusion about nutrition behaviors worsens and many flip to another often more left or right of center strategy.

If this sounds like you, IF is not for you. RIGHT NOW.

The good news is, we can work on our nutrition related behavioral skills so that we can follow any feeding paradigm we desire.

But, please don’t do it just because it works for Joe or Jane Influencer.

Work with the fundamental principles of nutrition and use them to your advantage. Do them well and you will reap the benefits.

Without going in to whether or not I think this is the best way to navigate nutrition plan formation, I wanted to share a video on one way to do this.

The technology is here, and as a practitioner that deals with clinical and non-clinical nutrition with patients regularly, we can all use this to our advantage.
