Squat variations 🤍

Back squat, Pistol Squat/Single Leg Squat, Front Squat, Goblet Squat, Heels Elevated, Jump Squat, Banded Squat, Squat with Abduction… The list goes on!

While consistency is key, if you’re no longer seeing progress try adding some of these into your routine!

Pull up variations 💀
1️⃣Pull Up
2️⃣Chin up
3️⃣Alternate Grip Pull Up
5️⃣Wide Grip Pull Up
6️⃣Assisted Pull Up
7️⃣Around The World Pull Up

We haven’t had access to a pull up bar in a few weeks. So we took advantage of the situation and played around will some variations today and pull up testing. Looks like a few weeks of banded work (and more cardio 🤣) has been helpful!!

Hiiii! Yeah, I still workout 💀

Life obviously looks a little different these days for us. But here’s a especially on days when life is just a little extra crazy, get a work out in! It doesn’t have to be super long or crazy.

But research shows that short bursts of physical activity can boost your mood, cognitive ability, and energy levels. Which means, you’ll be able to get through your busy day more easily!

So, if you need to, take part of this work out and then move on with your day knowing you’re mind and body will thank you for it!

20 walking lunges
20 shoulder taps (plank or handstand)
1 min speed skaters

12 Thrusters
12 Chest Press w/ Glute Bridge

12 Reverse Sit Ups
400m run

Who do you want to become? Who do you want to identify as? What are your goals?
Be an athlete?
A runner?
Healthy?
A yogi?

Your habits reinforce your identity. Your choices, your experiences, and your actions solidify the person you are.

We often think that we need to have accomplished something to identify as someone. We need to lose the weight to become a healthy person. We need to do an hour of yoga every day to be a yogi. We need to have run a marathon to be a runner.

If you can master the choices, the experiences, the actions that get you to the goal, that’s when you become that person.

Choose to run, even if it’s for a few minutes, that’s when you become a runner.
Choose to go to the gym, even if you’re not lifting as much as the person next to you, that’s when you become an athlete.

Rather than focusing on the goal, squat heavy and become a lifter, let’s focus on the system to get there. Focusing on squatting _____ amount of weight won’t make you stronger - your choices will. Following strength programming, eating healthier, getting enough sleep, drinking plenty of water, that’s how you get stronger and in turn become able to squat _____ amount of weight and become a lifter.

We have all heard the saying “trust the process”. The small goals, small choices, small steps, that’s what adds up and helps you become who you are striving to be!

You won’t wake up one day and just be a millionaire. In the wise words of “you better work b*tch”!

Be stronger than your excuses!

If you need a break, take it, acknowledge it, own it. There is nothing wrong with needing a break or rest day. In fact, they are good for you.

But...

Be honest with yourself.
Why are you not wanting to workout?
What is the root cause of the excuse?

Then...

Make the adjustments necessary and push forward. And if you don’t know how, just ask!
