California Society of Plastic Surgeons Educational and Research Foundation California Society of Plastic Surgeons Educational and Research Foundation - a not for profit organziation established to help uninsured kids in CA

California Society of Plastic Surgeons Educational and Research Foundation is designed to help children who are afflicted with a physical abnormality / condition that can be corrected with reconstructive surgery. Treatment can be related to a congenital birth defect, accident or trauma, caused by physical abuse, or by a violent act. Examples of conditions that will be considered are: cleft palate and other facial deformities, burns & scar revisions, tattoo removal, microtia and other physical abnormalities. This is a partial list, other conditions will be considered. CSPSERF has a simple mission: to help uninsured or under-insured children of California who could benefit from reconstructive plastic surgery yet are not able to afford this type of procedure. The mission of CSPSERF is to help these children who want to appear more "normal" to avoid the stigma that can accompany an individual who has a different appearance. Being bullied, ostracized, excluded, and ignored can become a way of life, for children with physical abnormalities and by offering them the services of California board certified plastic surgeons, it can help these children live without the self-consciousness and teasing that come with being different.
