My name is Melissa McLane; I’m a mom, and an entrepreneur with a passion for wellness. When you find something amazing you’re compelled to share, hoping that just maybe your story will ignite a spark in someone else. My mission is to help as many people get healthy, achieve overall wellness, and to find passion and purpose. I am passionate about overall holistic wellness; nutrition, being healthy and fit and looking and feeling great as we get older. I am well educated in health and nutrition. I ran my own labs… but this mattered more.

Today, I chose to step outside.
No agenda. No pressure. Just a moment to breathe.

It’s funny how we spend so much time trying to fix everything
tracking, testing, optimizing our health…

But sometimes, the most powerful reset
is getting sunlight, fresh air, and a quiet moment with yourself.

I almost didn’t go out today.
But I’m really glad I did.

Fasting is not the problem.
What I see over and over again is women using fasting…
without giving their body what it actually needs to function.
They skip meals.
They under-eat protein.
They stretch their fasting window longer and longer…

And then they wonder why:
• Their energy crashes
• Their workouts feel harder
• The scale stops moving

Here’s what is actually happening:
When your body does not get enough nutrients especially protein,
it does not shift into efficient fat burning.
It shifts into protection.
It slows metabolism.
It breaks down muscle.
It increases stress hormones like cortisol.
And cortisol blocks fat loss.
Fasting can be incredibly powerful,
but only when your body feels safe enough to use it.

And safety comes from:
• Adequate protein
• Stable blood sugar
• Nutrient-dense meals

This is why fasting is not a strategy by itself.
It is a tool...and tools only work when the foundation is in place.
If you feel worse when fasting, that is not failure.
That is feedback.

Ingredients (1 serving):
1 palm size portion of wild caught salmon (or pastured chicken thigh)
1 cup roasted broccoli
½ cup cooked quinoa
¼ avocado, sliced
1 handful arugula or mixed greens
1 tbsp pumpkin seeds
1 tbsp olive oil
Juice of ½ lemon
Sea salt + black pepper
Instructions:
Grill or pan sear salmon with salt and pepper.
Roast broccoli at 400°F for 15 to 20 minutes.
Assemble bowl: greens, quinoa, broccoli, salmon, avocado.
Drizzle olive oil + lemon juice.
Top with pumpkin seeds.

It's a hormone problem.
But here's what no one tells you.

It's not just about the weight.
Unaddressed metabolic dysfunction
is the root of chronic disease.
Heart disease. Diabetes. Dementia. Cancer.

Your body doesn't gain weight
because you ate too much.
It holds weight because something
at the metabolic level is off.

Insulin. Cortisol. Thyroid. Estrogen.
When those are out of balance,
it doesn't matter how little you eat

There’s a physiological reason for this.
