BIG NEWS!! Happier Hour is evolving!

For a long time, my biggest dream has been to find a way to help our kids suffer less and grow up with more resilience. It’s a rough, distracted, overwhelming world out there, and I’ve been searching for how to bring the Happier Hour® Method into schools and into kids’ everyday lives.

That dream is starting to take shape. I’m so excited to introduce
www.HappierHourSEL.com

It’s a space where I get to share The Story Cure (for teens) and The Play Cure (for kids) curricula designed to help students build tiny daily rituals that stick. Not just lessons they hear once, but practices they can lean on when life feels hard.

These aren’t just practices I teach, they’re the same tiny rituals I lean on most days. They helped men find peace and resilience in one of the hardest places imaginable, and I believe they will help kids feel steadier in the challenges of growing up today.

If you know a teacher, counselor, or school leader who cares about equipping kids with tools for resilience and joy, I’d love for you to pass this along. And I’d love to hear what you think.

Presently looking for 6-10th grade classrooms or schools to pilot The Story Cure SEL Curriculum.

Stand or sit tall and take a nice deep relaxed breath.
Now, tell me 5 things you appreciate in your life. Big or small, every bit of appreciation shifts your mood and trains your brain to notice the good.

Drop your 5 below. I’d love to hear them!

This post is a simple introduction to how rituals begin, often with nothing more than the smallest cue. You’ll see how easy it can be to start: one moment, one breath, one kind phrase. That’s all it takes to begin leading yourself differently. Share and sign up for my free newsletter!

Lately, I’ve really felt how fast everything is moving Between AI shifts, digital overload, the constant rush. Even when nothing’s “wrong,” it’s easy to feel wired and worn out.

Our nervous systems were NOT built for this pace.

One of the simplest tools I use -for myself and clients- is a walking breath ritual. Just a few intentional breaths between tasks helps me reset and feel like I’m leading my day, not just reacting to it.

It’s part of my Happier Hour® Method: 6 micro-practices to boost calm, clarity, and control, without overhauling your life.

I shared the full breathing ritual in this article:

What small ritual helps you stay grounded when life speeds up?

We’re entering an era where technology, especially AI, is accelerating faster than our nervous systems can process. It’s thrilling, but it can also leave us feeling overstimulated, scattered, or just plain exhausted.

It might seem obvious, but it’s a powerful question:
Do you even know what makes you happy?
Most of us want to feel better—but rarely stop to explore what lifts us, so we can begin to lead ourselves there.
I wrote about it this week on Substack. I'd love to hear what helps you feel more grounded or energized.

Hey FB friends!

I’ve been working on something close to my heart — a Substack newsletter where I share real stories, science, and tiny daily rituals that help build emotional strength, find peace, and even cultivate joy — lessons I learned from my years working inside a maximum-security prison.

I’m also writing a book inspired by these experiences, called Tiny Daily Rituals: What Inmates Taught Me About Living a Happier and Self-Led Life.

If you’re looking for simple, practical ways to feel calmer, happier, and more in control of your well-being, I’d love for you to join me on this journey.

Let’s explore together how small daily habits can make a big difference in our lives. And if you have rituals that help you, please share — I’d love to hear from you!

Thanks for the support — it means the world. ❤️
