SCFHP was one of several organizations that participated at Valley Health Foundation’s Turning Wheels for Kids Big Bike Build. Volunteers built approximately 1,000 new bikes that went to youth across the county. Each child who got a bike also received a free helmet and lock.

SCFHP is happy to support Valley Health Foundation and be a part of something joyful and deeply impactful.

On Saturday, December 13, SCFHP proudly hosted a graduation ceremony for 33 participants of the Community Health Worker (CHW) Certification Training Program.

The CHW Certification and Training Program develops qualified health care professionals to serve our diverse community. CHWs provide culturally competent support, including health education, resource navigation, and connects members to screenings for individuals requesting services.

This milestone reflects the dedication, compassion, and commitment each graduate brings to advancing health equity and expanding access to care across our community.

A big thanks to Foundations for Health Equity for their partnership and collaboration.

For information about CHWs, visit https://www.scfhp.com/for-providers/chw/.

Help your teen deal with stress.

Emotions can be high and mood swings can occur due to changes in a teen’s body and brain according to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and National Institute of Mental Health.

It is important to listen to and validate their feelings. If you see any changes in their mood, focus, or are concerned about their mental health, reach out to the child’s doctor. If they are an SCFHP member, you can also seek therapy services if needed.
