CPR Tip: Rescue Breaths

When providing rescue breaths it is important that you only give enough of a breath to see a visible rise in the chest. Too much air can cause the patient to vomit.

AED Tip:

When using an AED make sure that the pads are placed correctly on the patient's chest or a life saving shock may not be delivered.

First Aid Tip: Control of Bleeding

To control bleeding apply direct pressure to the wound site using a sterile gauze pad. If the blood soaks through the pad apply another gauze pad on top the the first pad. Do not remove the first pad because it will impede blood clotting at the wound site.

Home and business first aid kit tips:
1. Make sure you have an appropriate size kit. A 10 man kit should be able to cover a small family.
2. Make sure everyone knows where the kit is stored.
3. Check the contents occasionally, quarterly or maybe even monthly, to make sure items are not expired or missing.
4. Keep the gloves on top so that they are the first thing you grab.
5. Remember this kit is for basic first aid. If a serious emergency occurs call for EMS.

ONLINE CPR, FIRST AID & AED COURSES WITH SKILLS EVALUATIONS

Online only courses are not recognized by the AHA and are not accepted by professional organizations that require you to keep a valid CPR certification.

The good news is that there is a new way to get your CPR, First aid, and AED certifications and its with online classroom training and a face to face skills evaluation with your instructor.
