Oh do I ever remember these. The mail then the discovery then the meeting. And always… “she’s very social and has a lot of friends. She’s always smiling”. But that never cancelled out the occasional c’s and d’s.

Hi hi everyone. If you are looking for a great gym, I encourage you to look at the Tri City Wellness Center off of El Camino Real in Carlsbad. That place is amazing. Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates, Spin, Aqua and every state of the art machine you can imagine plus a track and a lap pool. Incredible.

RX: Do Nothing for Five Minutes!

The thought is that these women were less stressed; they weren’t flooding their body with stress hormones, which are known to increase appetite. So, find a quiet, comfortable place. Close your eyes shut and breathe deeply for five minutes each day.

RX: Make your favorite fare healthier.
Modify recipes to make your favorite fare healthier. Many unhealthy ingredients can be swapped for healthy ones in your favorite recipes. Use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream, broth instead of butter or oil for sautéing, and light mayo instead of regular. These substitutions can save you calories while you still enjoy your favorite foods.

RX: Downsize your dishes.
We often eat with our eyes, so when we see a full plate of food, we think we have to finish it. Serve your meals on smaller dishes, and you will trick your brain into thinking you ate more than you actually did.

RX: Don't fall into the weekend trap!
Just because you’ve made good, healthy decisions all week does not mean you can splurge on the weekends. Getting off track on a Saturday or Sunday can lead to feeling guilty on Monday. Remember that you want to feel good all the time, and making poor diet decisions on a weekend as a “reward” won’t make you feel good. Reward yourself with a fun activity that doesn’t involve food.
