Hi everyone!
My name is Lyndsey Smith, and I am both the owner and provider at Defy Medical LLC. With a decade of experience as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), my journey in healthcare began at 18 when I worked as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) while earning my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from The University of Oklahoma. After graduating in 2010, I became a registered nurse (RN) in the intensive care unit (ICU) in Tulsa, OK, and traveled as an ICU nurse while pursuing my Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on adult-gerontology. In 2016, after completing my MSN at Maryville University in St. Louis, MO, I started working as a hospitalist nurse practitioner until 2020.
For the past five years, I've served as a primary healthcare provider, assisting disabled Veterans in obtaining VA healthcare and disability benefits, and caring for adult-geriatric patients in skilled nursing, assisted living, and long-term care settings. My passion lies in supporting patients from adolescence through geriatrics, managing their acute and chronic conditions. At the center of my practice is a dedication to blending integrative functional medicine with evidence-based conventional medicine in ways that best suit each patient. As your primary care provider (P*P), my goal is to enhance your wellness through individualized and compassionate care. I aim to break away from traditional healthcare models by empowering YOU to lead your own personalized health plan, focusing on restoration, maintenance, or comfort to achieve the highest quality of life possible.
Defy Medical, founded in 2025, stands as a place where accountability is balanced with core values of truth, dignity, empathy, respect, and compassion.
