Not only did it help my own burn, but it came to the rescue for my little guy too! Rowan was helping us winterize the pontoon last week when he slipped and skidded his chin. He’s thoroughly enjoyed the “boo boo application” ever since—the smell alone is so calming and comforting.

When I first started TallowKind, a close friend said, “I’m going to try your products because I know how particular you are about what you use.” That meant so much to me because she knows I don’t just use things. I care deeply about ingredients, sourcing, and how they affect our bodies.

Just last week, while sitting at the park with two of my closest friends watching our kiddos play, we were chatting about all the things close friends can talk about. One of them laughed and said, “You’re so picky, but that’s not a bad thing.” She’s right. I am. Because I’ve learned that the little things matter.

Recently, while brainstorming Christmas products with another dear friend, an idea came up that was adorable — but it just didn’t align with my brand. She said, “I respect your opinion,” and that meant more than she probably realized. Staying true to convictions and being transparent in a world that often values trends over truth isn’t always easy, but it’s worth it.

TallowKind was never about keeping up with the Joneses. It was about paving our own path — the one less traveled. A path rooted in integrity, transparency, and care.

I’ve always been particular about skincare because I’ve lived through the side effects of products that weren’t made with women’s health in mind. I’ve used things that wrecked my hormones, damaged my skin barrier, and left me feeling embarrassed and defeated. I’ve walked the hard road of infertility and medical treatments, and I’ve seen firsthand the impact that toxic ingredients can have on our bodies.

That’s what pushed me to do better. Because once you know better, you can’t unknow it. And it’s not just for me anymore. It’s for my daughter, Tatum. For Rowan, my son. For every mama who wants her little ones to have access to safe, nourishing skincare that doesn’t come at the cost of their health.

We’re surrounded by toxins every single day — in our food, our environment, and our homes. If I can do one small thing to help lower that toxic load for my family and for yours, I will.

With the FDA’s decision months back to ban Red No. 3, it’s a good reminder that true change in our food system will not come from Big Food. It starts with small farmers and ranchers.
