In her role, Hunter will oversee the hospital’s Birth Center, which includes five private and spacious labor and delivery suites with amenities such as private bathrooms with whirlpool bath tubs, sleeper sofas for dads, central monitoring and in-room infant care areas. The Birth Center provides management of premature labor, fetal surveillance and delivery of term infants, with a Neonatal ICU. About 300 babies are born at Central Carolina Hospital each year.

A resident of Seagrove, Hunter served previously as Administrative Director for Women’s and Children’s Services at FirstHealth in Pinehurst from 2023 to 2025. Prior to that, she served as Director of Nursing in Women’s and Children’s for Cone Health System in Greensboro from 2016 to 2023.

She also served as Nurse Manager for Metrohealth System in Cleveland, OH, from 2010 to 2016 and as Assistant Nurse Manager there from 2007 to 2010.

A native of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Hunter received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Bowling Green University in Bowling Green, OH, in 2010.
