🥗 Grate into stir-fry, soups, or dressings for a fiery kick

🧪 Ferment into a ginger bug to make your own probiotic soda!
Ways to Enjoy Fresh Turmeric

🌙 Blend into golden milk (plant milk + cinnamon + black pepper = cozy healing)
🥭 Add to smoothies with mango, banana, and coconut water
🍛 Grate into curries, rice, or roasted veggies for earthy flavor
✨ Mix with honey for a glowing skin face mask
🧴 Make turmeric paste for daily anti-inflammatory boosts
How to Regrow (Forever Plants!)

🌱 Save a chunk of root with little buds (“eyes”)
✂️ Break off side pieces to use, but keep the main bulb to replant
🌞 Let dry 1–2 days, then plant in wide pots or garden beds with rich soil
💧 Keep soil moist (not soaked) and place in a warm, partly shaded spot
⏳ In 8–10 months, harvest, enjoy, and replant again!
These roots can feed your family and your health for years.

Wild Medicine Alert!
Did you know you can forage elderberries and elderflowers right in the wild? These powerhouse plants grow near creeks, forest edges, and sunny clearings — just make sure you’ve got the right ID (Sambucus nigra or Sambucus canadensis)!

Elderberries are famous for their immune-boosting syrup, great for cold & flu season. But don’t stop there — you can also dry them for teas, make jam, or whip up a homemade oxymel.

Elderflowers bloom before the berries come in and are magical in their own right! Use them to:

• Make a refreshing elderflower cordial
• Infuse into skin-soothing oils or DIY toners
• Add to baked goods for a floral twist
• Steep for calming herbal teas

Nature’s medicine is all around us — you just have to know where to look.
Tag a foraging friend and tell me: have you ever used elderberry or elderflower?

Over the years, I've captured the essence of this incredible site—found purely by chance during my wanderings. A place of deep historical reverence, standing as a powerful testament to endurance and strength. Our past, present, and future are forever intertwined, and sites like these hold stories we need to learn and share more about. At Eco for the People, we aim to bring these stories of resilience and success to light, because the struggle is far from over.

Our stories are always evolving, but our foundation remains strong. Acknowledging the land of the Central Florida natives who came before us, and recognizing how many Black people today are like a lost tribe, with a history obscured. But we are here to remember. We are here to reclaim.

I chose The Event Horizon by Amber Mark for this video because its bold message of breaking through limits aligns with the spirit of challenging oppression and embracing personal freedom.
