2016 was the beginning of everything we are today!
Mom told me to treat the cafe like I would college, and I guess the 10,000-hour thing worked.
I think it’s important to reflect on memories— they help us keep our lives in perspective, which supports our relationships with ourselves and each other, and significantly helps us turn our LESSONS into WISDOM
I started living into my passion around 2016. I was learning so much about integrative nutrition, energy medicine, Ayurvedic medicine, herbalism across cultures, and from clinicians. I was opening myself up with magical plants and reading vintage books I got my hands on (that I still have and reference today). I also started following Astrology around. Mom and I would talk about what’s going on with the planets while prepping veggies for Kenny to juice or in between steaming up a herbal latte (later becoming Kava Chai and Mind Brew) and blending the best smoothies with all the superfoods.
It’s wild to reflect on life 10 years ago and still feel it.
Doubly wild is being back where the shop was, on a 7-mile island on the Gulf Coast, where folks from all over the world would come to be surrounded by nature and shells, and warmed by the sun-kissed sand.
Having a brick-and-mortar with my mom and partner was what brought me the dream of Conscious Seed. I remember waking from a dream with the name singing in my head. It’s been a winding journey to be where we are today, and we are still growing, finding our way as we prepare to expand into a brand that can last in our changing world.
Forever and always, we hold to our ethics of origin: keeping it raw, real, and tasty! Nature has always been the medicine.
