Each year, Cottage Health hosts a Veterans Day celebration to honor active and retired veterans, providing a time to gather, reflect and express appreciation for their service. This year marked the 13th annual event and featured a traditional remembrance led by retired Colonel Kevin Nelson.

As we observe Veterans Day, we are grateful to all who have served and are proud to recognize the veterans at Cottage Health who continue that tradition of service every day.

Cottage Health team members from across departments and Star Wars characters from the 501st Legion joined together for a day of fall fun with our pediatric patients!

Festivities included a Trick-or-Treating Parade, “Reverse Trick-or-Treating,” a Star Wars meet-and-greet, and fall crafts, bringing joy to patients and staff throughout the unit. The 501st Legion also stopped by the NICU, where the NICU Shared Governance Team created custom baby costumes.

This week, National Pharmacy Week, we recognize the outstanding Cottage Health pharmacy team — 60 pharmacists, 45 technicians, two residents, five interns, a clerk and an administrative assistant — who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure safe, effective and compassionate care for every patient. The team provides clinical specialties while partnering with physicians, nurses and care teams to optimize evidence-based medication choices, leverage advanced technology for a state-of-the-art distribution system, and support smooth transitions of care with Cottage’s Meds-to-Beds discharge pharmacy program. Our Story

Mission Statement: To provide superior health care for and improve the health of our communities through a commitment to our core values of excellence, integrity, and compassion. Founded in 1888, the not-for-profit Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital has been serving the community for more than 125 years. Cottage Health, formed in 1996 as the not-for-profit parent organization of Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and its affiliated Cottage Children’s Medical Center and Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital, Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital, and Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital, is guided by a volunteer board of directors from the greater Santa Barbara community.
