It's , and today we recognize the resident physicians who are an integral part of the care team at Cottage Health. This annual day shines a spotlight on residents and fellows and the compassionate, human-centered care they provide to patients every day.

From Pediatrics and Internal Medicine to General Surgery and Diagnostic Radiology, our residents carry forward a tradition that began in 1923, caring for our community while training alongside experienced physician mentors in a culture rooted in teamwork and respect.

Today, we celebrated them and spent a few moments relaxing with our therapy dogs in appreciation for all they do.

To our resident physicians, thank you. We are grateful for you.

We were honored to welcome U.S. Senator Adam Schiff of California to Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital in Solvang this week as part of his visit to tour the hospital and meet the team that provides essential care to the Santa Ynez Valley community.

His visit highlighted bipartisan legislation he helped lead alongside the late Congressman Doug LaMalfa to protect federal support for rural hospitals like ours. This support helps ensure we can continue providing essential services close to home for the patients and families who depend on us.

We are grateful for his leadership and commitment to rural health care.

Our Story

Mission Statement: To provide superior health care for and improve the health of our communities through a commitment to our core values of excellence, integrity, and compassion. Founded in 1888, the not-for-profit Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital has been serving the community for more than 125 years. Cottage Health, formed in 1996 as the not-for-profit parent organization of Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and its affiliated Cottage Children’s Medical Center and Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital, Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital, and Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital, is guided by a volunteer board of directors from the greater Santa Barbara community.
