invited me to assist him in his first ever executive event for a VC retreat in Saratoga.
As we drove up the narrow hills, I knew I was in for a treat but I wasn’t prepared for such stunning vistas and a house which is truly out of this world, perched on a cliff overlooking Silicon Valley.
It is always moving for me to see Manoj teach from this place of knowledge and daily practice and how despite his busy work and home life, he finds time for his passion of teaching wim hof method.
The shift in people as they do the breathing practice and do the cold immersion is incredible. Each one of them sat for two minutes in the icy water. Not sure what melts faster-resistance or ice-but both seem to be a given.
It was a perfect Friday afternoon and we did celebrate with Beer and momos on our drive back home.
Manoj is one of the few instructors in the Bay Area and his April workshop is also sold out. If you want to try the cold immersion and learn the wim hof breathing method please reach out to join his May workshop or talk to him about organizing a bespoke event for your team. Shri Manoj Yadav and Smt Ashima Sarin became Yoga teachers a couple of months ago. We laughed at the formal language on the certificate but it’s a fair reflection of the process of getting a certification from the Ministry Of Ayush in India, the formal body for yoga certification.
Our learning continues even as we incorporate Yogic techniques and wisdom in our teachings through the BeCubed Framework.
The greatest gift of all this that we receive a chance to practice together. It has deepened our connection at all levels and has motivated to bring these gifts to other couples.

One of the greatest gifts that has come our way is the merging of our spiritual paths. So when opened its doors after two years for an in-person retreat, I wanted to introduce to this zen jewel that has so profoundly influenced me when I visited it a few years ago.
The benefit event was hosted by no other than the living legend, , a true heart teacher and an embodied boddhisatva. The first time I heard him speak at a event almost a decade ago, I cried hearing this man speak whose presence reminds you of the goodness in the world and who looked so much like my grandfather. Since then my love for him has brought me into his fold multiple times and he is also one of the faculty members at the program which I am a part of.
We also heard speak about his mindfulness based work with incarcerated youth groups. Jack urged us all to pay attention to the pain and suffering of our youth and if they are healed, so will our planet.
We came home, filled with gratitude and a reminder to put service before self.
We hope our April 24th workshop is first of many where we will talk about ways we can bring well-being tools to our teens and tweens, to their friends, schools and communities. The hour long workshop is free, virtual and for parents to learn some simple ways to teach their kids how to build a flexible body, calm their nervous system, hone their attention AND harness compassion for self and others.

One of my favorite wim hof stories that Manoj shared was one evening where Wim
was talking to the group about how he was inviting to the Annual International Yoga day celebrations and he was demonstrating hanuman asana or monkey pose, a full frontal split.
He then started talking about the myth of Hanumana and how he carried the Sanjeevi mountain to cure Sita.
Manoj the only Indian in the group spoke up. “It was Lakshman and not Sita”. Wim acknowledged the correction and several times during that night, he would look at Manoj in the eye and nod.
A teacher’s greatness is an equal measure of their knowledge and humility. And the truly great ones never stop learning and being students.

When a fellow mindfulness facilitator leaves your workshop learning something new, you know you are on the right path.
Here is a testimonial from Cliona Molloy from Ireland who attended our last workshop and learnt a deep breathing technique that is so simple yet often overlooked by seasoned meditators.

Best Valentine’s Day gift ever! My man got to meet his hero! Today, met in Poland where he is visiting for his certification.
This is the man that has been so transformative in the life of my husband and as an extension in our life.
I asked him how was his experience and he said something to the effect of pure energy, unlike anything he has experience.
Wim Hof’s breathing method is the catalyst that inspired our framework .bodybrainbreath.
It was the shift Manoj started experiencing after he started practicing breathwork daily and saw his brain health scores shoot up. Once he started doing the daily stretches, the effect was exponential.

A glimpse of Saturday’s BeCubed workshop in this photograph taken by . What an honor to be able to use technology in this way to gather, connect and heal.
We were so grateful for the huge turnout. Over 60 people-family, friends, colleagues and strangers attended the workshop to learn about the BeCubed Method: the essence of our well-being practices woven into daily rituals. It was a gift to be able to share our story and our own experience with stress and burnout having worked in tech and bio tech for over 20 years that led us to create this work so we can show up sane, healthy and balanced for ourselves and our kids.

This photo was taken a few years ago at when were helping each other right rope walk.
As a family, we were always geared for movement. Kids played sports and we stayed active-walk, run, gym-when we could. I would drag the family to yoga festivals and we started playing tennis as together.
Our brain health activities were sporadic. I would do crosswords and sudoku from time to time. Manoj would challenge kids in Math and play his games (the man is humble about his genius).
But Breath work? Not consistent, to say the least.
Till the pandemic hit.
To keep ourselves sane and thriving during that time was no easy task. It is then that Manoj started practicing daily breathwork, stretches and use the brain health app .
Doing all three together was exponential. Not only did his physical health improve, he became more patient with the kids, we felt more connected and interestingly, his brain health scores were the highest they had ever been. I tried the same and the impact was mind boggling.
It was then, I convinced him to start teaching it to friends, family and colleagues.
