The I Ching is an ancient logical system based on the combination of Yin and Yang, developing into trigrams and then into 64 hexagrams, helping people understand the laws of all things.
I Ching begins with the concept of Yin (- -) and Yang (—), two opposing yet complementary forces in the universe. From these, four states are formed: Old Yin, Young Yin, Young Yang, and Old Yang.
These states combine to create eight trigrams, each made up of three lines, representing natural elements: Heaven, Earth, Mountain, Water, Wind, Thunder, Fire, and Lake.
By pairing two trigrams together, we get a six-line figure called a hexagram. There are 8 x 8 = 64 possible combinations, forming the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching. Each hexagram has its own meaning, reflecting situations, states, or advice for life.
The I Ching is used for divination, self-reflection, or seeking advice in challenging situations thanks to the logical structure of its hexagrams.
