My focus is on working with the nervous system to reset and improve unhealthy neural patterns that often contribute to physical and mental health issues.
I blend conventional neurology with brain-body therapies to help reset and improve unhealthy neural patterns that can contribute to various physical and mental health problems. As a holistic neurologist, I combine traditional neurology with brain-body therapies to treat the root causes of symptoms and help my patients tap into their natural ability to heal. I’m a board-certified neurologist with specialized training in pediatric neurology and pediatric stroke. Before joining Santa Cruz Integrative Medicine, I was an assistant professor and practicing neurologist at Stanford. During my time as a clinical researcher, I studied the medical effects of chronic stress and trauma. The lack of recognition and proper treatment for stress-related symptoms motivated me to seek out, learn, and develop effective therapies for these conditions. I also created HeartMath’s trauma-sensitive training for health professionals and an online course that teaches emotional awareness and self-regulation for parents and children.
