Some days can feel like there are too many roommates living in the mind.

The inner voices of worry, anxiety, judgment, planning, and critic.

The ruminating stories and rehearsal of old narratives.

The inner critic gets louder when the stress response is on overdrive.

So if you notice your inner roommates are a bit critical at the moment, take a pause.

Awareness is the first step.

And journal.
•Write down all your worries, anxieties, and inner critic thoughts on one half of the page.
•Take a few more deep breaths.
•On the other side of the paper tune into your inner wisdom and write down what you would wish to hear. What would soothe the soul? That’s your inner wisdom.

🧠 Journaling activates the prefrontal cortex of the brain and deactivates the amygdala (our fear + worry center). Writing down how you feel helps to reconnect you with your whole brain and body, while dimming the stress response.
