There’s a coping mechanism we don’t talk about enough.
And for me, it’s been food.

From a young age, I learned to use eating as a way to soften big feelings.
Stress. Loneliness. Overwhelm. Exhaustion.

And here’s what makes it complicated:
Food isn’t something you can just “quit.”
You still have to eat - every single day.

So emotional eating can hide in plain sight.
Even behind “healthy” food.
Even inside wellness routines.

I don’t share this because I’ve figured it all out.
I haven’t.

I still catch myself standing in the kitchen, reaching for something -
when what I actually need is rest.
Or comfort.
Or five quiet minutes to feel what I’ve been avoiding.

What changed everything for me wasn’t discipline.
It was awareness.

Now, when the urge shows up, I pause and gently ask:
– Am I actually hungry?
– Or am I tired, anxious, sad, or overstimulated?
– What do I really need right now?

Sometimes the answer is food.
And sometimes it’s a walk, a conversation, a cry, or a cup of tea in silence.

There is no shame here.
Only curiosity.
Only kindness.

If you’ve ever used food to cope please know this:
You’re not broken.
You’re human.
And you’re not alone.

Happy Valentine’s Day 🤍

Michael and I are going on a little date today.
Just the two of us.

And to be honest… that hasn’t happened very often the last few years.

Two kids.
Very hands-on parenting.
A lot of tag-teaming.
Moving.
Rebuilding support from scratch.

It took time. And trust.
But now we’ve found someone our kids absolutely love and that tiny window of space has changed everything.

Which is why Valentine’s Day feels different to me now.

It’s not about chocolates, roses, or red hearts.
It’s a reminder of love.

Love for yourself - first.
Because when you speak to yourself kindly, slow down, and listen… you naturally have more love to give.

Love for your partner.
Love for your children.
Love for friends, neighbors, community.

And even love for your life exactly as it is right now -
messy, imperfect, still unfolding.

When we feel love, safety, and connection, something real happens in the body.
The nervous system softens.
Stress hormones quiet down.
Oxytocin - the bonding hormone - rises.

Our breath deepens.
Our heart rate slows.
Our body shifts from survival into repair.

Love literally tells your body: you are safe.

And that might be one of the most powerful things for our health.

So today, instead of focusing on what needs to be fixed or improved…
What if we just loved it all?

This body.
This season.
This version of ourselves.
This life.

If we lived a little more from an open heart, I truly wonder what would change.

💗 What does love look like for you in this season of life?

695 days into building SuperPlants - and this week felt like one of those “this is real life” moments.

Daily Greens and Healing Turmeric are temporarily out of stock.
Not because we don’t care.
Not because we cut corners.
But because real supply chains, real weather, and real humans are involved.

A snowstorm shut production down.
Production is only happening this week.
And when you’re a small, family-owned brand, that ripple is felt everywhere - emotionally and financially.

I know how many of you rely on your morning green shot.
I know it’s frustrating to wait.
And I want you to know we’re doing everything we can - with integrity, patience, and care.

Moments like this are exactly why we dream of owning our own production facility one day.
We already source every ingredient ourselves.
We’re incredibly selective.
But for now, we still rely on partners to bring it all together.

This is what building something slow, intentional, and honest actually looks like.

On the brighter side - Hormone Health is getting closer 🤍
And if you want it, I’ve created a free guide that explains the foundation of female hormones in a calm, empowering way.

Comment “💗” and we’ll send you

This deserves its own post - because I feel it’s important to talk about what came after cancer.

Hi, we’re Kristel & Michael, the founders of SuperPlants.
When Michael was diagnosed with testicular cancer in his twenties, our world stopped.

Chemo was brutal. Scary. All-consuming.

And then one day, the words every patient hopes for arrived: “You’re cancer-free.”

But what no one prepared us for was what came next.

Chemo ended -
but Michael had never felt worse.

His energy was gone.
His digestion was a mess.
His body felt inflamed, weak, and deeply depleted.

That’s when the real healing journey began.

I started cooking differently.
Focusing on anti-inflammatory, whole-food, plant-based meals.
Supporting detox pathways gently.
Creating what eventually became Daily Greens, one jar at a time.

And slowly - not overnight - things shifted.

His energy returned.
His strength came back.
Inflammation softened.
Digestion stabilized.
His body began to recover, not just survive.

That’s when we learned something we’ll never forget: Nutrition doesn’t replace treatment - but it can profoundly support healing.

So we created a free guide to share exactly what helped Michael during recovery - not as medical advice, but as a compassionate, grounded resource for anyone walking a similar path.

Inside the guide, you’ll learn:
•The foundations of a nourishing, anti-inflammatory way of eating
•Foods that support detoxification & immune resilience
•What we chose to avoid during recovery
•How to gently rebuild strength and energy
•Daily rituals we relied on
•A simple, calming meal plan to begin
•Science-backed superfoods that supported healing

If you’re feeling scared, lost, or overwhelmed -
this guide is meant to feel like a hand on your back.

Healing isn’t linear.
But it is possible.
And you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Comment “SUPPORT” and we’ll send it to you.

If you have a blender, you already have one of the easiest ways to support your energy, digestion, and hydration - especially in the morning.

Smoothies have been part of my routine for years.
Not because they’re trendy.
But because they work on busy, real-life days.

Most mornings, I make one big smoothie and rotate between a few favorites: green + tropical,
or creamy berry,
depending on what my body feels like.

What I love most is that smoothies let you gently combine
fruit,
vegetables,
healthy fats,
protein,
and superfoods -
all in one glass.

No rules.
No perfection.
Just nourishment that feels supportive instead of stressful.

Here’s the simple 5-step smoothie formula I come back to again and again:
1. Fruit – whatever you love
Banana, berries, mango, apple, citrus

2. Veggies – easy, neutral
Spinach, romaine, frozen cauliflower

3.Healthy fats – for balance + fullness
Nut butter, avocado, coconut cream

4.Protein – optional, but grounding
Vanilla protein or whatever you tolerate well

5.Superfoods – pick one or combine
Greens, berries, turmeric, collagen

Blend with water, plant milk, or coconut water.
(I personally love just using water.)

And a small habit that makes mornings easier than you think: write down your favorite smoothie combos and stick them on the fridge.
Decision fatigue is real - especially in the morning.

One last reminder 🤍
Smoothies aren’t a must.
There’s no “right” way to do this.

The goal is simple:
find what fits into your life — and repeat it gently.

What’s your favorite smoothie add-in right now?
Tell me below - I genuinely love trying your ideas.

Building SuperPlants has been one of the most meaningful experiences of our lives.

688 days of building a company while raising two small humans.
Learning as we go.
Making mistakes.
Having honest conversations.
And choosing real ingredients over the “easy” option — every time.

Last week, we finally slowed down enough to be together as a team in Hawaii.
We talked through processes.
Planned what’s coming next.
And had some very real conversations about what happens when you sell real products — like snowstorms delaying production and things not always going to plan.

Daily Greens wasn’t produced last week like we hoped.
It happens.
And we’re learning to hold flexibility, transparency, and patience as part of this journey.

We also squeezed in a photoshoot, shared meals, brought the kids along, and reminded ourselves why we do this in the first place: To build something intentional.
To build it with heart.
And to build it together.

If you want access to the free resources we’ve created over the past year — from weight loss to daily detox to holistic health — comment FREEBIES and we’ll send them your way.

And if you’re a parent who’s survived toddler sleep transitions… I’m very open to advice 🤍

If your body feels overwhelmed, it’s asking for simplicity. Something that feels grounding and easy.

This is that smoothie for me.

Not a “detox.”
Not a reset.
Just steady nourishment that helps my body feel safe and supported.

🍌 Banana for balance
🌿 Spinach for minerals
💪 Protein to keep energy steady
🌱 Daily Greens for gentle nourishment
✨ Collagen Support for skin + structure
💧 Water because simple works

I’ve learned that health isn’t built by extremes.
It’s built by small, repeatable rituals that you actually come back to.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, start here.
One smoothie. One habit. One moment of care.

Save this for your next simple morning.

Eat plants, Feel alive.

You know I’m all about that Daily Greens shot and Multivitamin in the morning (yes, it’s still a fantastic way to start the day!)—but today, I want to remind you that health goes way beyond what you eat.

Lately, I’ve been learning something that feels so simple, yet so powerful:

Your mindset—your thoughts, your emotions, your energy—is a huge part of your health.

One of the biggest shifts I’ve made recently is leaning into gratitude and joy.

Science shows that gratitude literally alters your brain—it softens your nervous system, opens your heart, and helps you see all the beauty in life that’s already here.

Each morning, before I even open my eyes fully, I do this one thing:

I quietly say to myself three things I’m grateful for, and then I set the tone for my day by saying:

“Today is going to be an absolutely fantastic day. Something amazing is going to happen.”

And you know what? It usually does.

Not because everything is perfect—but because I’m more open to seeing the magic that is all around us.

We can get so wrapped up in rules, routines, what is not good and what we “should” do to be healthy or successful or whatever it is.

But you only get one life. And filling it with joy, gratitude, and lightness isn’t just allowed—it’s essential.

So today, this is your permission slip:
✨ Do something just because it brings you joy.
✨ Say thank you for the little things.
✨ Trust that what you focus on expands—and joy attracts more joy.

Comment below something you are grateful for today 😊🙏
