Today’s topic is Plantar Fasciitis. The symptoms of Plantar Fasciitis is pain towards the back of the heel and bottom of the foot. Plantar Fasciitis is caused by tension or overuse of the Fascia of the foot(the muscles going down the foot). The cause of tension or overuse is almost always from some type of imbalance in the ankle, knee, or hip. If you correct and bring back proper function to the leg the fasciitis will improve in no time! This is very common and is actually one of the first symptoms to improve with my clients!

Do you suffer from headaches? Do you have crazy tight shoulders? Have you been told or made yourself believe that you just hold tension in your shoulders? NOPE!!! Your body doesn’t just decide where it is going to have pain. The reason you have tension there is because your body is in a compromised position! On the left we have good posture. The head is in line with the shoulders and hips. On the right we have bad posture. The head and hips are forward of the gravity line. This is because of disfunction in the muscle groups responsible for keeping your joints in line, putting a massive strain on your neck and muscles around it! By doing a short routine daily to correct these imbalances, you will have a massive change in your symptoms GUARANTEED!

Have you ever had a bad relationship with your office chair??? Looked online to find the top rated, most comfortable chair with the most lumbar support? How about switching the focus from the chair, to your body. Sitting for 8 hours on any surface is quite feat for anyone. Now imagine putting a dysfunctional body in that situation.... not pretty. So why not work on the body so that it can better handle sitting on any surface. I create customized exercise routines to correct peoples specific needs! Message me for more details on therapy options and like this if you've had a bad relationship with chairs!

This post is a tribute to one of the most important, if not THE most important muscles in the entire body, the Psoas! It is a major hip flexor and is involved in almost anything you do, wether you're running, dancing, biking, or chilling on the couch binging that show you can't stop watching. The reason that it is so involved is because it connects your torso to your lower limbs and is the only muscle to do so! They connect to the lumbar spine, go through your pelvis, and attach to the femurs. This is why having tight or weak Psoas muscles is so directly connected with lower back pain! It is one of the deepest muscles in your core, so it is almost impossible to massage. But functional exercises can strengthen, loosen, and correct disfunction in these crazy important muscles! Feel free to contact me if you feel like Posture Therapy can help you!

Have you ever stopped to think about your posture? How do you know if your posture is good or bad? Here is a text book anatomy photo. You have 8 load bearing joints. They should all be symmetrical right to left and stacked on top of each other(dotted lines). You can stray away from this posture due to environment, habits, or injury. The further you go away from this designed posture the greater your chances of imbalance, chronic pain, and injury! But there is good news! You can get back to that designed posture through exercises! If you have any questions about how posture is directly correlated with pain, feel free to call, email, or set up a time to see me at Saraland Chiropractic!
